The Vegan Trucker
Apr 12th
Seldom during the past 15 years of publishing the Hallelujah Acres Health Tip have I used the testimonies of those who restored their health by any other means than using The Hallelujah Diet. But I recently read a testimony in the March/April 2012 issue of VegNews that I felt worthy of sharing with you.
The title of the article is “Raw Vegan Trucker” and is written by Joni Sweet:
When asked why he decided to ditch meat and dairy, 65-year-old Dave Conrardy summarizes his complex health situation with the simple explanation – “I was dying. That’s what made me go vegan.”
At 430 pounds, the big-rig driver was eating three pounds of red meat and a pack of antacids every day. His diabetes was out of control, his kidneys were leaking proteins, and a total of 25 prescription medications were keeping him alive.
But the place where his health problems began is where he found a solution: on the road. In 2007, Conrardy discovered the work of raw foodist Gabriel Cousens and started juicing fruits and vegetables at highway truck stops.
Picking up produce in small towns, he would head to the highway stops, pull out his dual juicers and a 500-foot extension cord, and set up shop on a picnic table, making three gallons of juice – enough for three days.
Just 10 days after adopting this new lifestyle, Conrardy ditched the antacids, and found that it became easier to avoid animal products. “The more I flooded my body with nutrients, not only did I feel better, but my cravings went away.”
Fellow truckers dubbed him “the incredible shrinking man” – he lost 230 pounds after 15 months on his new diet and was soon off 24 of his 25 medications. “When I heard about veganism, I didn’t believe it could be this powerful,” says Conrardy.
No longer driving trucks, Conrardy shares his story at conferences worldwide, runs an e-book publishing company, and coaches others on the benefits of a raw diet. The inspirational speaker affirms, “I am committed for the rest of my life to getting the word out.”
Editor’s Note: Congratulations to Dave Conrardy and may his testimony be an inspiration to others to change their diet from animal-based to plant-based. By the way, the photo in the VegNews article reveals the contents of Dave’s refrigerator, including a container of Hallelujah Acres’ BarleyMax on the top shelf!
Easter Weekend at Hallelujah Acres
Apr 9th
This past Easter Weekend we had over 150 in attendance at our monthly God’s Way to Ultimate Health seminar!
Guests came from as far away as California, Texas, Michigan, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and all the states surrounding North Carolina.
The information was life-saving but the testimonies took center stage!
Dozens of people shared how they had experienced health improvements after eliminating toxic foods and adopting The Hallelujah Diet!
One gentleman told how five years ago at the age of 76 the medical community had failed to arrest his cancer and given him a death sentence. But a Christian medical doctor encouraged him to adopt The Hallelujah Diet — and there he was in the seminar sharing that today at age 81 he is not only alive, but cancer-free.
Others shared of arthritis and diabetes going away after making the diet change. While others told of incredible weight losses, drastically reduced cholesterol and triglyceride levels and reduction in blood pressure readings.
One lady told how she was able to avoid a heart transplant after making the diet change. There were numerous other testimonies as well.
These testimonies before the seminar always set the stage for the information that follows. About 75% of those who attend are first-time visitors; as they hear these testimonies, they are eager to hear how The Hallelujah Diet may help them recover from their physical and psychological problems, too.
At the conclusion of the seminar the question was asked: “How many of you know someone that needs to hear this health message?” Almost every person in the room raised their hand.
Each month, many of those attending are guests of others who have personally experienced improved health on The Hallelujah Diet and they want to help friends and loved ones have the same experience.
Our next first-Saturday-of-the-month, “God’s Way to Ultimate Health” seminar is scheduled for Saturday, May 5, beginning at 10:00 a.m. These seminars are without cost, but come early for a good seat! We have free snacks in the Hallelujah Acres store at 9:00 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. we present an informative health video!
Make plans to attend and bring someone with you!
Rhonda’s Friday Night Culinary Class
Each month, the Friday evening before the Saturday seminar, Rhonda conducts a three-hour culinary class in which she prepares and provides samples of a full-course Hallelujah dinner.
At the end of the class people are asked to evaluate what they have experienced. Following are a few of the evaluations from this past Friday’s class:
“My children loved being here and it held them captive. I loved your transparency and zeal and humor and integrity. Thank you!”
“I found the course so beneficial – the food was delicious and the flavors tantalizing. Hallelujah Acres is run like a well oiled machine. I learned of Rhonda’s Culinary Class from the weekly Hallelujah Health Tip, which I find excellent.”
“The food was delicious! Thank you for accepting this call on your life. Your love of George and life itself is so evident. I learned of your Culinary Class from two ladies in my church who had both recovered from cancer after adopting the Hallelujah Diet.”
“The simplicity and variety were there and inspired me to be more creative in my food preparation. My only regret is that I can’t come to your classes more often. Thank you! You and George are very special to us.”
“The simplicity of preparing healthy foods was inspirational. I think the course is excellent – actually the course is FANTASTIC. Thank you so much.”
Rhonda’s next Culinary Class is scheduled for Friday evening May 4, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Register now!
Noni Juice – Miracle Or Snake Oil?
Apr 7th
“Dear Rev. Malkmus, My brother and sister-in-law swear by noni juice as a miracle cure-all. I haven’t found anything on the Hallelujah Acres website about it and have heard from others that there is nothing special about it. Because of all the claims my brother and sister-in-law are making concerning the miracle healing powers of noni juice, now my mother and husband want to try it for pain relief. Do you have any information on this product?”
Tammy W.
Editor Responds:
There are numerous fruit drinks on the market today making a host of claims. While some do indeed offer some antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefit, we have never found a need for them on The Hallelujah Diet.
The Hallelujah Diet is every bit as anti-inflammatory and rich in antioxidants as noni juice. We don’t need to drink these highly processed, pasteurized, and extremely expensive fruit drinks in order to obtain improved health.
In fact, the fruits themselves from which these processed juices are made are a much better option to receive the fruit’s benefits.
Click here for more information I have found on noni juice.
Easy Cheesy Sauce

Think you can’t have cheese sauce without dairy? Think again! You’ll be amazed how much this tastes like the cheese sauce you remember.
Send Us Your Recipes
If you have a favorite recipe send it our way! We will share the best of them in future Health Tips and on our website. They can be raw or cooked, but they must be vegan (no animal products), and contain no refined sugar, refined grains, or table salt.
Heal Thyself!
Apr 5th
When a person goes to a doctor, they have faith that the doctor is going to be able to help them without any participation on their part. But the Bible tells us that “faith without works is dead.”
When a person adopts The Hallelujah Diet they add works to their faith!
These testimonies tell of the results a person obtains when they become an active participant in their own healing.
“Twelve years ago, after being diagnosed with cancer, I adopted The Hallelujah Diet and as a result of making such a simple diet and lifestyle change and without any medical treatments of any kind – I am today CANCER FREE and very healthy.
Now here is something that I don’t understand: I have lost most of my friends because I stopped eating meat. Because I stopped eating meat they think I am ‘weird’. I find it so strange that if I had continued to eat meat and gone the traditional medical route of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery and died, they would not have thought of me as being ‘weird’. But because I used diet rather than traditional cancer treatments to rid myself of cancer, that makes me ‘weird’. Well praise God I don’t eat meat anymore and never will again.
Five months ago my husband’s cousin who lived in Greensboro, North Carolina died after being diagnosed with Mad Cow Disease. Autopsy of the brain proved the diagnosis. It was a horrifying thing to watch. She suffered so greatly. Several others in the Greensboro area have recently died of Mad Cow Disease though it doesn’t get reported by the press.
I praise God for giving me that revelation to stop eating meat 12 years ago. Because of that revelation and my obedience to that revelation I stopped eating meat, witnessed my cancer going away, and today I have no fear of ever developing Mad Cow Disease or cancer.”
Sharon A., North Carolina
“My husband and I are on day 57 of the Hallelujah Acres “60 Days to a Hallelujah Waistline”, and doing the diet is getting easier with each passing day. My husband has already lost 20 pounds and four inches off his waist in less than 60 days. I haven’t lost as much weight, but have lost three inches off of my waist. We both feel so much better and my husband’s cholesterol and blood pressure numbers are continuing to improve. Can you say ‘HALLELUJAH’!”

“Dear Rev., Dr. Malkmus, I live in Sri Lanka. I read your book ‘Why Christians Get Sick’ and was much encouraged by its content. I as a layperson had come to similar conclusions about four years ago. I called it “The Genesis Diet” (Genesis 1:29) and recently had an article published in the Church paper ‘The Ceylon Churchman.’ (The article is copied below for ease of reference and also because it gives my testimony of what happened to me when I adopted the Genesis 1:29 diet).
I would like to follow your example and try to get the Christian Churches to follow the teachings of your book as it explains the concept much more clearly than my article. We are a small Christian minority (7%) in Sri Lanka, a largely Buddhist country (Buddhists 72%, Hindus 14%, Muslims 7%), and therefore we could make a huge impact if most of the Christians followed your teachings as we would be so healthy that we would stand out from all the rest regarding health.
I plan to give your book to Church leaders of various denominations to help them by making myself available to conduct cost-free seminars/workshops to demonstrate the truths set out in your book using my own body and very good state of fitness and health as a living testimony. ”
Ranjit S.
Retiree, Food & Agriculture Organization of the UN, Sri Lanka.
Here are some excerpts from Ranjit’s article, “The Genesis Diet.”
“… What does the Bible say about what we should eat? I was surprised to find it in the very first chapter of the First book in the Bible – Genesis Chapter one verse 29. … What led me to this verse was my research on diabetes and the realization that ‘The future of medicine is food.’ Hippocrates, the founder of modern medicine said ‘let your food be your medicine and your medicine your food.’ … So when it was obvious that this new research only confirmed what the Bible had said ages ago, I decided to give the ‘Genesis 1:29 Diet a try. The results were truly amazing! My weight gradually dropped from 160 to 135 – and although I am 75 years old, I can now run and jump like a young person, and my barber noticed that new hair was growing where I had been bald for over 20 years. Previous echo-cardiograms showed a leak in one of my heart valves but after a year on the Genesis 1:29 diet doctors say there is no sign of it. I am completely convinced – based on the Genesis 1:29 diet given by God – when rigorously followed, could change your life as it has changed mine. … The Genesis Diet is therefore a project that could change your life forever and perhaps make your body a fit vessel for the ‘Temple of the Holy Spirit.’ Christians would stand out because they would be so different. Their vibrant good health would be a daily witness – they would rarely fall ill – especially if they also kept fit with exercise and enough sleep. Is this only a dream or can this become a reality?”
