How Prayer Can Hinder The Healing of God’s People
Sep 27th
The response to last week’s Health Tip story “How Churches Promote Ill Health” was incredible!
In fact it generated more response than any Health Tip I had previously written (and I have written some 700 of them).
Here is a sampling of those responses:
“Rev. Malkmus: I wholeheartedly agree with you. But, I think you left out one thing in your comments. Food IS a GOD. Sometimes it’s the MOST WORSHIPPED GOD in our churches.”
“Praise God for this awesome message, Dr Malkmus! I often preach the same thing as I educate others about honoring God with their temples.”
“Thank you, Bro. Malkmus! I just read your sermon on the foods that church people eat and I totally agree with you! In fact, I would like to send this to my pastor, but first I need to pray for the courage to forward it.”
“AMEN! Thank you for posting this! It’s about time someone said it. You have just expressed my thoughts completely!!”
“Hallelujah once again for a great message. Since 2002, when I first learned the truth about nutrition, I have been hearing those “90% of the prayers” in churches everywhere — prayers for divine healing of diseases that we have unknowingly brought upon ourselves.”
“Praise the Lord I feel like shouting right now, I’ve been saying this and saying this. We go to the alter for prayer, have hands laid on us, and that’s all good, but we go right back to our seats and to our house and eat the same as before and never change or do our part. Because God requires we have a part to play in our healing, we never receive our healing. In fact I was that person, but when I got tired of being sick and tired, I got on my face and cried out to God to help me. And ever since that day I’m not the same person. What a wonderful change has come over me. Before I changed my diet I weighed 198 pounds. Today I weigh 134 pounds. That’s a 64 pound weight loss. Before the diet change I was on 12 medications and today I’m only on one and on my way to none. Glory to God for the things He has done.”
This week I want to deal with a similar subject; but first let’s take a brief look at how most churches deal with sickness.
How Churches Deal With Sickness
I personally pastored various churches for nearly 20 years up until I was told I had colon cancer at age 42 (36 years-ago). I know how I personally dealt with sickness in the various churches I pastored back then. Guess what? It’s still the way most pastors and churches deal with sickness today.
In my churches, especially on prayer meeting night, after the people had opportunity to share their prayer requests, we would have prayer for those sick individuals. Also, when people would come up to me individually and share that they or a loved one was seriously ill, I would immediately stop and have prayer for that sick one.
However, by asking God to heal that person of their infirmities, in reality, we are turning over to God any responsibility the person has for dealing with the physical problem themselves.
What kind of results are we getting in response to these prayers for healing in our churches?
Be honest, now…
Why Are So Many Not Receiving Healing In Answer To Prayer?
In most churches, requests for healing of physical problems are the dominant prayer request – usually over 90%.
Does everyone for whom we pray get well in response to these prayers?
Don’t get me wrong. I believe that the Bible is the very word of God (see II Timothy 3:16-17). I also believe that the God of the Bible is also a prayer hearing and answering God. “Call unto me and I will answer thee . . .” (Jeremiah 33:3).
During my pastoring years in both large and small congregations, numerous people asked for prayer for the physical needs of themselves, a friend or loved one. Not only would I earnestly beseech God for healing in prayer on their behalf, but I would also share these prayer requests with the congregation for additional prayer.
Sadly, there were numerous times when the congregation and I would pray earnestly for someone’s healing, especially for a seriously ill child or someone with cancer, and yet I ended up conducting that person’s funeral.
How can we explain this?
Is it God’s fault healing did not take place or ……
Could Prayer Sometimes Hinder The Healing Of God’s People?
There is a song we used to sing in our church, and one of the verses goes like this:
If your body suffers pain and your health you can’t regain,
And your soul is almost sinking in despair,
Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save and He can heal;
Take your burden to the Lord and LEAVE IT THERE.
I believe one of the primary reasons prayers for healing so often do not result in healing is because that is exactly what we do, we “Take our burden to the Lord and LEAVE IT THERE.”
Could our leaving our burden with the Lord present a problem?
Could this hinder healing?
If we want to obtain healing from our numerous infirmities, we need to do more than just ask God to heal us – we must also seek His guidance as to what part He would have us play in that healing.
We have already learned that prayers and faith in so many instances are not sufficient to bring about healing and here’s why…
“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works” shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead.” (James 2:17-20)
Now I believe God is capable of healing our physical problems in answer to a prayer without any help from us.
But obviously, when we see so many of those for whom we prayed not receiving healing (and dying), we need to seek the reason “WHY”.
And that reason my friend, I believe, is that God usually wants us to participate and become active in the bringing about of that healing.
Sadly, our churches do not teach us to go beyond “taking our burdens to the Lord and leaving them there”.
When we desire healing for ourselves or another, our prayer should not just be, “Lord heal me” or “them”, but rather: “Lord, please reveal to me the knowledge I need, that will put me on the path to bring about the healing I am praying for.”
The Bible even tells us how to obtain that knowledge:
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)
My Personal Experience
Way back in 1976 I was told I had colon cancer. But I had lost all faith in the medical community to heal my cancer because of my mother’s horrible experience going the medical route.
Not to mention, God had not answered my prayers for her healing.
So, I changed my approach.
I asked the Lord to show me where to turn for help in my healing.
In answer to that prayer, the Lord led me to Evangelist Lester Roloff who encouraged me to change my diet to what we call today “The Hallelujah Diet.”
The knowledge Brother Roloff imparted to me not only led to the healing of my cancer, but also led to the founding of Hallelujah Acres. So, essentially, that prayer for direction has resulted in health restoration for millions of Christians around the world, removing all manner of both physical and psychological problems for the past 20 years.
If we desire to stop seeing all those prayer request sheets in our churches loaded with people dealing with cancer and numerous other physical problems…
If we desire to stop seeing them die and attending their funerals…
Then we the church must do more than just pray for a person’s healing.
The church must also inform people that the sick person needs to become an active participant in their own healing by asking: “Lord what must I do to help bring about this healing I am seeking?”
It is so thrilling to receive letters from people who approached their healing this way. These letters testify that, after being prayed for in the church and not receiving healing, the pastor or another member of the church encouraged that person to investigate The Hallelujah Diet.
And when they did, it put them on the path that led them to the healing they were seeking!
How Faith In Modern Medicine Can Hinder The Healing Of God’s People
In our churches, after prayer, what is the very next thing a person is advised to do by the pastor and most everyone else in the church?
Is it not, “you need to get to a doctor”?
By going to a doctor, we are actually saying, “I do not believe God is capable of bringing about the healing and God needs help.”
This act indicates that we do not have faith in God’s ability to heal us, and that we believe the modern medicine is God’s source of help.
But how is modern medicine doing?
Is it bringing about the healing we so desire? Or are we still, in spite of it all, watching people continue to get sicker and eventually dying?
NEXT WEEK I will, Lord willing, and if the creeks don’t rise too high, deal with the subject: “IS THERE A BETTER WAY?” We will take a close look at the results we are obtaining when seek help from modern medicine. Don’t miss this eye-opening message! In fact, you may want to share it (and today’s message) with your pastor, Sunday School teacher, and fellow Christians.
Presidential Vegan Story Gets Big Response
Sep 24th
I received quite a bit of mail from people responding to my article titled Former US President on Plant-Based Diet. Here are some of those responses:
“Former president Bill Clinton, since eliminating all meat and dairy from his diet and adopting a vegan diet, has lost 20 pounds, his blood work looks good, and he has lots of energy. He says that the reason he changed his diet was so that he could live longer and enjoy his grandchildren. Without making the diet change he was looking at living only a short time. For a similar reason I changed my diet seven years ago from a meat and dairy based diet to the Hallelujah Acres vegan diet and my heart disease and asthma problems I had suffered with for 50 years went away.”
Jack L.
“I also saw former president Bill Clinton on the CNN television show titled ‘The Last Heart Attack.’ I think it is awesome seeing more famous people making the switch to what Hallelujah Acres has been trying to get people to switch to for 20 years. May their numbers increase!”
Marilyn F.
“Yes, Rev. George, I saw the video of Bill Clinton about two days ago and all I’ve got to say is: ‘Glory, Glory, Hallelujah, HIS truth is marching on.’”
George P.
“Hi Dr. Malkmus, I am a supporter of The Hallelujah Diet, and thus far have removed meat from my diet. However, I am doubtful … because I thought I read some years ago that you had suffered a stroke during one of your public speaking engagements. If you did suffer a stroke, then others may be doubtful … Please reply. Thank you!”
Jewell B.
Rev. Malkmus Responds
“Yes Jewell, I did experience a hemorrhagic stroke on July 12, 2001 due to stress after an exhausting speaking tour in South Africa. I delivered seven seminars in six different cities to an average crowd of 600 people during one week. I was also on a plane for total of 53 hours in just 10 days.
Some people do not understand that there are two types of stroke: The first type of stroke is caused by ischemia (lack of oxygen to the brain), while the second type is caused by hemorrhage.
Both types of strokes can cause similar symptoms. According to the American Stroke Association, 85 percent of strokes are ischemic, resulting from blockage of one of the arteries in the brain because of fatty deposits (atherosclerosis), a clot forming in an artery or an embolism (a moving clot) from another part of the body.
The other 15 percent of strokes, according to the American Stroke Association, are hemorrhagic. Hemorrhagic strokes are caused by ruptured intracranial aneurysms (bulging arteries that bleed) between the skull and the brain, putting pressure on the brain.
The type of stroke referred to in my article about Bill Clinton was the ischemia type stroke, which comprises 85% of all strokes. This type of stroke, caused by the fat build up in the arteries from animal source foods is the type of stroke that by eliminating animal source foods from the diet, would eliminate almost all fear of ever experiencing this type of stroke by nearly 100%.
Trust this helps you to better understand my statement regarding Bill Clinton and strokes.”
How Churches Promote Ill Health
Sep 20th
This may sound like a crazy title for a message, but I trust you will seriously consider its content and take action on what you are about to read.
During almost 20 years in the pastoral ministry, I founded two and pastored several other Baptist churches. In addition to the churches I pastored, I have been a member of and faithfully attended several other churches. When added up, I have pastored or attended churches for over 54 years since becoming a Christian in 1957.
In addition, I have also had opportunity during the past 20 years to share God’s health message in hundreds of churches across America and in a number of foreign lands. These churches were of more than a dozen different denominations.
As a result of being in so many different churches over such a long period of time, I have a pretty good handle on what is and what is not being taught concerning the physical body, and what is offered to the children and adults in those churches to eat and drink.
In short, when I say that “Churches Promote Ill Health” I know what I am talking about.
In fact, for most of the years that I pastored, I must confess, I personally participated in, encouraged, and was responsible for “promoting ill health” in the various churches I pastored.
I did it in ignorance, but that doesn’t alter the fact that I was responsible.
You likely attend a church that “promotes ill health” as well.
“How can this be?”you may ask.
I’ll explain, but first here’s a little biblical foundation:
We Are Triune Beings
Just as the God Head is comprised of three persons (the Trinity), “God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit” (See I John 5:1-20), we humans are triune beings as well, comprised of: “spirit, soul, and body”:
“I pray God your whole spirit and soul and BODY, be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Thessalonians 5:23) Notice this scripture says that we should pray that all three parts, “spirit, soul, and BODY, be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Now stick with me! Does not the Bible also admonish preachers that they preach the whole counsel of God?
Here is what the apostle Paul had to say about the whole counsel of God in Acts 20:27-28:
“For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”
When Was The Last Time…
Now, in most churches the messages coming from the pulpit center on the “soul and spirit” of man and how to protect the soul and spirit from the world’s influence! This type of preaching is right and proper.
But when was the last time you heard a preacher preach on the “BODY,” the physical BODY that houses the “soul and spirit?”
When was the last time you heard a preacher share how to maintain it in wellness and protect it from the influences of the world?
Or rather did the preacher make a big joke about that double dip chocolate concoction they ate last week?
I remember a very obese evangelist whom I asked to hold a series of meetings in a church I pastored a number of years ago. During his message said that he wanted to die drowning in a great big bowl of chicken gravy.
He said it in jest, but how many times do we hear preachers make jest of some unhealthy food they ate the past week?
And when was the last time you heard in a Sunday school class how to maintain that physical body so that it would be a fit vessel to house the “soul and spirit?”
Is not a fit and healthy physical body a necessity for the body to be a fit vessel for the Master’s use?
If this earthly house (our body) is not kept healthy and strong, how can we ever fulfill the earthly ministry God has called each of us to?
And yet from the pulpit and the Sunday School classroom we hear nary a word about this. There is absolute silence on the subject of how to maintain a physical body that is fit for the Master’s use in our churches.
Why Is There No Teaching or Preaching About This?
Why is there no teaching or preaching in the church on how to maintain our physical bodies in a state of wellness so that we can have a healthy body with which to serve the Lord?
Why are some 90% of the prayer requests in our churches for the healing of those in our churches who are sick?
Do you not see a relationship between how we nourish these physical bodies and the physical problems the people in our churches experience and pray to be healed from?
Has Satan blinded our eyes to this glaring and obvious relationship? Should not wellness be of the highest priority in our church and should not wellness be the testimony of our church people?
Does not the Bible admonish us in Romans 12:1 to take proper care of these physical bodies? It says that we should “present [our] BODIES a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is [our] reasonable service.”
And with regard to these physical bodies, does not the Bible tell us in Romans 12:2 how “not” to take care of these physical BODIES: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
There are further teachings on how to take care of our bodies in I Corinthians 6:19-20: “What? Know ye not that YOUR BODY is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in YOUR BODY, and in your spirit, which are Gods.”
Yet In The Church…
Sadly, in the church, in spite of all the biblical warnings we have just read, we have done just the opposite of what God admonishes us to do in Romans 12:1-2.
We eat the world’s diet, we go to the world’s doctors, we take the world’s drugs, and we suffer the same consequences of ill health as the world’s people who go this same worldly route.
The world’s people are sick, tired, and dying prematurely and needlessly — and so are God’s people.
What should we do about it? Here is what God says: “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you.”
We in the church have bought into the world’s system. Indeed, we have brought the world’s system into our churches and homes, and we are paying a horrible price.
It is high time that we begin preaching from our pulpits and teaching in our Sunday schools, how to properly nourish and maintain these physical bodies we have on loan from God.
How Churches Promote Ill Health
While a pastor in one of my churches, we had a bus ministry comprised of five large school buses plus a van.
What was constantly being given these bus kids to encourage them to get on and ride to church? CANDY!
And in junior church we gave them cupcakes and soda pop, all loaded with sugar.
In our church socials, the tables were heaped with sugar desserts, and animal flesh was the predominate offering – barbecued pork, southern fried chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, and you name it.
And for dessert there were the high sugar content donuts, cakes, cookies, pies, etc.
And for a beverage is it not sugar-laden sodas and coffee and tea?
Are you aware that these items — that are being offered and served in our churches to this very day — contribute to ill health?
Sugar destroys the immune system and makes us susceptible to colds, viruses, and bacteria and yes… cancer! Sugar also causes our children to misbehave and contributes to depression.
The fat in the animal products clog up the arteries and cause high blood pressure, need for stents and bypasses along with heart attacks, strokes, and diabetes. These animal products also cause cancer, arthritis, asthma, acid stomach, heartburn, gout, liver problems and more.
What Should Churches Do?
Rather than promoting ill health by giving the children unhealthy items to eat and drink, we should provide the children in our churches with health promoting foods like apples, oranges, date-nut balls, and other healthy snacks.
For beverages let’s give them ice water, rather than sugar-laden soda pop and Kool-Aid.
And for our socials, let’s provide our church people with such items as salads of all kinds – vegetable salads, bean salads, corn salads, whole grain pasta salads, etc., along with baked white and sweet potatoes, and a variety of cooked and raw vegetables and fresh fruits.
There are so many delicious dishes that tantalize the taste buds and fill the stomach that are healthy and health promoting. Why do we have to serve our church people at the various church functions unhealthy fare that promotes ill health?
Does this make any sense?
And what is the result of providing all this sickness-promoting food and drink? On prayer meeting night, 90% of the prayer requests are for physical problems caused by placing these unhealthy sugar and animal flesh items into our body.
It’s shocking to realize that the church is contributing to the sickness that necessitates these prayer requests.
Let’s Stop Promoting Sickness In Our Churches
In the church where Rhonda and I currently attend, at our church socials, we have a special table designated “Hallelujah Acres Food”, where healthy foods are available. And it is exciting to see that people whose diet has always consisted of the unhealthy foods come and try our healthy foods, and find out how tasty these healthy foods can be.
Since we started attending our current church, dozens of the people have adopted The Hallelujah Diet and reporting all kinds of improvements in their health – weight losses of over 50 pounds, diabetes gone, high blood pressure now normal, energy increased, and the list goes on.
May every pastor set the example by adopting a health promoting diet and then start promoting health in their churches.
May every Sunday school teacher adopt this 100% plant-based diet and start promoting health in their individual classes.
My dear friends, let’s each of us be challenged to STOP promoting sickness in our own body and the churches we pastor, teach in, or attend, so that we can have a church full of healthy people, people who have bodies fit for the Master’s use!
EDITORS NOTE: If you are concerned about the promotion of ill health in your church, may I encourage you to forward this article to all the pastors, Sunday School teachers and others in your church who need to hear this message. Also, send it to friends and loved ones who attend other churches as well. Let’s each do our part to STOP promoting ill health in the church of Jesus Christ.
Does Rev. Malkmus Endorse Annual Physicals – Part 2
Sep 17th
In last week’s Health Tip, I began responding to a letter asking if Rhonda and I have “regular medical check-ups”. Here are answers to the questions in that letter:
Does Rhonda Have An Annual Mammogram?
Rhonda and I have been married just a few months short of 20 years. She has not had a mammogram since we were married. She had one previously, but here is her response regarding mammograms before that time:
“I had one once, before I got on The Hallelujah Diet and I knew about the dangers of mammograms! I knew that could not be good for me so I never had another.”
Dr. Russell Blaylock is a nationally respected, nutritionally minded neurosurgeon, author and lecturer. In his December 2010 edition of The Blaylock Report, he revealed some surprising facts about this controversial screening method.
“I am now opposed to all mammograms,” Dr. Blaylock stated. “The breast is highly sensitive to the effects of radiation. Radiation effects are cumulative, they add up from year to year.”
In fact, Dr. Blaylock said that irradiating the breasts of a woman with a family history of breast cancer is likely to cause breast cancer!
Is There A Safe Means of Testing For Breast Cancer?
Since mammography has so many potentially dangerous side effects, is there a testing method that is safe? And the answer is YES.
Thermography uses an infrared camera to map the surface temperature of the breast to pick up heat signatures (inflammation) that may be caused by abnormal tissue growth. Using thermography, conditions that can lead to cancer can often be detected up to ten years in advance versus mammography.
For more information on thermography visit http://www.iact-org.org.
However, the best chance of avoiding breast cancer is to change one’s diet and make sure vitamin D levels are adequate. There must also be ample iodine for the thyroid as well as the breast! The 100% plant-based Hallelujah Diet, along with adequate vitamin D supplementation is the best available option to prevent not only breast cancer but all types of cancers.
What About Dental Checkups?
Rhonda does have dental checkups. She had a lot of dental and gum problems prior to adopting The Hallelujah Diet 20 years ago, but since the diet change has had no additional problems and her gums have healed wonderfully and become very pink and healthy. I’m often receiving reports of how gum problems disappear on The Hallelujah Diet.
This editor on the other hand does not have dental checkups because after I learned of the dangerous of amalgam fillings — and I had a mouth full if them — I elected to have all my teeth removed. I have had dentures for almost 20 years.
What About Eye Exams?
Rhonda does have regular eye exams because her eyes keep changing. Before adopting The Hallelujah Diet 20 years ago she had very thick, tri-focal glasses. Since the diet change, almost every time she has an eye exam, the doctor has had to reduce the strength of her lenses. She now has very thin bi-focals.
This editor has not had an eye exam in almost 20 years. I began wearing glasses at age 28 after being on the standard American diet all my life. Between ages of 28 and 42 and before adopted The Hallelujah Diet, I had the strength of these glasses increased almost yearly.
After adopting the Hallelujah Diet at age 42, I had almost a yearly decrease in the strength of my lenses until I was able to stop wearing glasses at age 65. Then two years ago, at age 75, I was able to pass my North Carolina driver’s eye test without glasses; the restriction for corrective lenses on my license was removed. The restriction had been there for almost 50 years.
My responses to these questions are what my wife Rhonda and I believe and practice, and are not meant as advice for anyone other than ourselves. If you use the information without the approval of a health professional, you are prescribing for yourself, which is your constitutional right, but neither I, nor Rhonda, nor Hallelujah Acres assume any responsibility.
Former US President on Plant-Based Diet
Sep 13th
On Sunday evening, August 28, 2011, CNN ran a television special titled “The Last Heart Attack”, hosted by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, during which he interviewed former President Bill Clinton.
In that interview, Clinton, who during his presidency was noted for a junk food diet of hamburgers, barbeque, and doughnuts, revealed that he had adopted a vegan diet.
If you watch that video, you will realize that the diet Bill Clinton adopted is very similar to The Hallelujah Diet.
He made this diet change after learning that animal fat clogs arteries and shuts off blood flow to the heart and brain.
Indeed, one of the outstanding benefits of The Hallelujah Diet is that it prevents people from having clogged arteries, high blood pressure, stents, by-passes, heart attacks, and strokes. We have been sharing this good news for almost 20 years.
In a previous interview on CNN, dated September 22, 2010, Clinton had the following to say as to the reason he adopted a vegan diet:
“I did it because after I had this stent put in, I realized that even though it happens quite often that after bypass surgery you lose the veins because they’re thinner and weaker than arteries, the truth is that it clogged up, which means that the cholesterol was still causing buildup in my vein that was part of my bypass.
I didn’t want it to happen again. So I did all this research and it says that 82% of the people since 1986 who have gone on a plant-based, no dairy, no meat of any kind — I eat very little fish — 82% of the people who have done that have begun to heal themselves. Their arterial blockage cleans up; the calcium deposit around their heart breaks up.
This movement has been led by Doctor Caldwell B. Esselstyn at the Cleveland Clinic, Dean Ornish out in California, the doctors Campbell, father and son who wrote The China Study, and a handful of others. But we now have 25 years of evidence. So I thought… I’ll become part of this experiment. I’ll see if I can become one of those who can have a self-clearing mechanism.”
Today, after adopting a 100% plant-base diet, Clinton says he is slimmer than he has been in decades (has dropped more than 20 pounds), has more energy, and is healthier than ever. Read the story of how it happened.
He refers to his diet change as, “turning a ship around before it hits the iceberg.”
But where is YOUR ship headed?
In order to avoid the “iceberg” in your own life, you need to do as Clinton did: stop consuming all animal source foods if you wish to escape a long list of physical problems – including but not limited to clogged arteries, high blood pressure, stents, by-passes, heart attacks, and strokes.
How To Turn The Ship Around Before It Hits An Iceberg
It’s not just people Clinton’s age that need to turn the ship around.
Compelling evidence shows that the atherosclerotic process (buildup of fatty plaque in arteries) begins in childhood and progresses slowly into adulthood. Then it often leads to coronary heart disease, the leading cause of death in the United States.
During the Vietnam War, autopsies on soldiers who died on the battlefield revealed many had a 50% blockage while 6 out of 94 soldiers had so much plaque buildup that 75% to 90% of an artery was blocked.
Arteries carry blood to and from the heart and into capillaries. Exchange of oxygen, nutrients, and waste material takes place across capillary walls.
The interior of arteries should be smooth and unobstructed, but as one ages, if they consume a diet high in animal fat, a sticky substance commonly called plaque can develop and build up on the interior arterial walls. This plaque is comprised of fatty acids, calcium, and fibrous connective tissue.
Where Does All Of This Fat and Plaque Come From?
Friend, that buildup of fat and plaque in the arteries doesn’t just appear out of nowhere — it comes from what a person eats and drinks! People may blame genes, but the culprit is clearly diet.
As the Bible implies in Proverbs 26:2, “The curse causeless shall not come.”
In other words, the curse of the narrowing of those arteries by that fat and plaque buildup had a CAUSE – wrong diet.
Sadly, in today’s society, we do not seek the CAUSE of high blood pressure or that fat and plaque buildup, but rather deal exclusively with the symptom.
But here is the GOOD news!
In most instances, you can eliminate the need for high blood pressure medicine, stents, and bypass surgery by simply taking personal control and changing what you eat and drink.
Stop putting the animal fat into your body and the body will immediately set about removing that fat and plaque buildup on its own and without a doctor’s help.
The Bible explains how you got into this situation and how you can get out in Galatians 6:7: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
The law of sowing and reaping can be a curse or a blessing. This gives you the ability to CHOOSE the end result.
Do Drugs, Stents, and Bypasses Fix The Problem?
Does the drug correct the cause of the high blood pressure? Does it prevent the continued build-up of fat on the arterial wall?
No way!
Nor do bypass surgery or stents correct the problem more than temporarily. If those who have these types of surgeries continue to consume animal products, they will usually have additional need for stents or bypasses as the buildup continues — which can ultimately lead to a fatal heart attack or stroke.
Over time, this fat combines with inorganic minerals found in synthetic supplements and tap water, hardening the fat that lines the arterial walls. The result is arterial plaque.
Dr. T. Colin Campbell, PhD, Cornell University, author of The China Study had the following to say on pages 130-132 of his book:
“The future is filled with hope. We now know enough to nearly eliminate heart disease. We know not only how to prevent the disease, but how to successfully treat it. We do not need to crack open our breast plates to reroute our arteries, and we do not need a lifetime of powerful drugs in our blood. By eating the right food, we can keep our hearts healthy. . . .
“Whether scientists, doctors and policy makers think the public will change or not, the layperson must be aware that a whole foods, plant-based diet is far and away the healthiest diet. In the seminal paper regarding the landmark Lifestyle Heart Trial, the authors, Dr. Ornish and his scientific colleagues, write: ‘The point of our study was to determine what is true, not what is practicable.’
“We now know what is true: a whole food, plant-based diet can prevent and treat heart disease, saving hundreds of thousands of Americans every year. . . . Now is the time of great hope and challenge, a time when people can control their health. . . .”
Hallelujah Diet To The Rescue
The Hallelujah Acres Diet contains zero animal fat. In place of the meat and dairy — which contains that animal fat that cause heart attacks and strokes — we replace the animal sourced foods with a 100% plant-based diet, the very diet Dr. Campbell speaks of!
As I conclude this article, let me share where the diet we proclaim here at Hallelujah Acres came from. It came from God! This diet is found in your Bible in Genesis 1:29. God gave this diet to Adam immediately after creating him.
And what’s good for Adam is good for us today. A 100% plant-based diet is what God designed our physical bodies to be nourished with and thrive on.
This diet is comprised of 100% plant foods and contains zero animal fat. The diet former President Bill Clinton adopted to prevent further damage to his cardiovascular system is very similar to the diet we have been promoting here at Hallelujah Acres for nearly 20 years.
Have you adopted The Hallelujah Diet yet?
It could not only prevent the need for a stent or bypass surgery, but also prevent a heart attack or stroke that could end your life.
Make the diet change today — do your best to keep your body fit for the Master’s use!
Does Rev. Malkmus Endorse Annual Physicals?
Sep 10th
My responses to the following questions are what my wife Rhonda and I believe and practice. Our opinions are not meant as advice for anyone else. If you use the information below without the approval of a health professional, you are prescribing for yourself, which is your constitutional right, but neither I nor Rhonda nor Hallelujah Acres assume any responsibility.
“How does Rev. Malkmus feel about getting regular medical check-ups? If you know you are following The Hallelujah Diet faithfully are these check-ups necessary?
For example, does Rev. Malkmus have a regular colonoscopy?
Does Rhonda have an annual mammogram as the medical field states that women her age should have on a regular basis?
Or do you guys just know that it’s not necessary because you’re eating the Hallelujah Acres way?
What about dental check-ups?
What about eye exams?
Thank you for your time and consideration and may God continue to bless you in all that you do to help build the health of God’s people and advance God’s kingdom.”

Are Annual Medical Check-Ups Necessary?
I personally never go to a general practitioner who practices allopathic (drug) medicine for an annual physical. In fact neither Rhonda nor I would go to an allopathic doctor for anything.
Not that these doctors are not good people, it’s just that we do not agree with how they have been trained to treat physical problems.
Because we believe that the body is self-healing when properly nourished, and that drugs and radiation hinder healing, we would not go to a doctor that uses that approach.
However, there are doctors who do believe in the body’s innate ability to heal when conditions supporting self-healing are practiced. These are the only type of doctors we would go to for an annual checkup or if dealing with a specific physical problem that we were unable to bring under control ourselves.
Rhonda and I both have nutritionally-oriented medical doctors who place all their patients on The Hallelujah Diet. We do go for annual check-ups to these doctors. These checkups consist of checking blood pressure, heart, ears, eyes, nose, throat, etc. But we go primarily for blood profiles which tell far more than any external or visual check up can.
Two years ago I learned that I was a little low in vitamin D and so my doctor recommended I take 5,000IU of vitamin D3 daily. My thyroid was sluggish as well, for which iodine was recommended. These conditions were corrected with supplements (not drugs). This year my iron was a little low and so a natural organic iron supplement was recommended.
Each year my alternative doctor prescribes I be tested for over 60 different categories through blood and urine. This is the only accurate way to know what is going on inside the body. By the next blood test, we know if we need to continue taking that supplement or whether we can refrain.
While we strive each day to be careful what we consume eat and drink, and supplement our diet with daily vegetable juices and BarleyMax, sometimes blood tests reveal we are lacking in something. In order to keep our bodies operating at peak levels we find taking a particular supplement advisable.
Does Rev. Malkmus Have A Regular Colonoscopy?
Absolutely not, nor would I ever submit to one! To prevent ever having a problem with my colon I consume a 100%, mostly raw, plant based diet. Plant foods contain lots of fiber (animal foods do not contain fiber) and keep food moving rapidly through the digestive tract. This prevents colon problems from ever developing.
It is almost impossible for someone on a 100% plant-based diet to experience colon problems. However, those who consume a high amount of animal flesh, which contains zero fiber and putrefies in the colon area, and those who consume lots of refined grains and flour products which have very slow transit times, are asking for colon problems.
Colonoscopies Have A Number of Potential Dangers
Identified dangers of the colonoscopy procedure itself include reactions to the sedatives and/or narcotics which can lead to adverse respiratory and/or cardiac events; gastrointestinal perforation; rupture of the spleen; acute anemia; hemorrhaging; stroke; and gastrointestinal burn.
A very uncommon danger, but one on record, is transmission of Hepatitis C resulting from improperly sterilized colonoscopy instruments.
While rare, death can occur during the colonoscopy procedure. Most deaths during colonoscopy result from perforation, however, there is certainly potential for death from adverse reactions to the anesthesia, or as a result of either hemorrhaging or stroke should the procedure precipitate those adverse reactions.
We will finish answering the questions Peggy asked in next week’s Health Tip — we’ll talk about mammograms, eye and teeth exams and more!
