First Weekend A Huge Success
Feb 7th
The First Weekend of each month, we offer folks a tremendous opportunity here at Hallelujah Acres to learn how to improve their health through simple diet and lifestyle changes.
Hallelujah Acres has been offering these exciting weekends for many years now, and the number attending keeps increasing as more and more people are realizing that the information is improving the health of multitudes. Two medical doctors were in attendance this past Saturday and voiced support for what Hallelujah Acres teaches.
This past weekend, in spite of heavy rains here in Shelby and snow and ice to our north and west, attendance was great. Folks were here from as far away as California and Arizona to the west, Florida and Alabama to the south, Ohio and New York to the north, and numerous states in between.
Friday evening, 30 folks drove through heavy rains to attend Rhonda’s culinary class.
Then Saturday morning, with the rain tapering off, people started arriving for Rev. Malkmus’ God’s Way to Ultimate Health seminar before 9:00 a.m.. By the time the seminar began at 10:00, additional chairs had to be set up to accommodate the crowd which nearly filled our 400 seat auditorium.
The testimonies shared before the seminar began were awe-inspiring! Several dozen people shared how after they had adopted The Hallelujah Diet they had seen numerous physical and psychological problems simple go away. From cancers to diabetes to arthritis gone, and a weight loss to over 100 pounds!
Following Rev. Malkmus’ seminar there were 60 who stayed to attend Paul and Ann’s Where Do I Go from Here presentation. This was the second largest class ever attending this event. (The previous high was 63).
Our next HUGE WEEKEND at Hallelujah Acres is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 4th and 5th. The seminar is FREE, and no registration is required. However, there is a fee and registration required for Rhonda’s class on Friday evening and Paul and Ann’s class on Saturday afternoon.
By the first weekend in March the weather and roads should be improving, so mark your calendar and start making plans to attend! And do invite a friend or loved one to join you.
What Does A Healthy Kitchen Look Like?
Jan 25th
In recent Health Tips we have evaluated the “size” of your family and what items are found in a weight-gaining kitchen.
In this Health Tip we are going to explore what comprises a healthy kitchen; those items that will not only produce health, but also produce a body that is slim and trim and fit for the Master’s use. We will also consider those items that do not qualify to be in a healthy kitchen.
What Does A Healthy Kitchen Look Like?
We are going to begin our search for the answer to that question by going to the source of all truth, the Bible, and see what we can learn from God, the Creator of mankind, about the subject:
“And the Lord God formed man of the dust (dirt, minerals) of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the Lord God planted a garden eastward of Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.” (Genesis 2:7-8)
“And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food. . . . And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.” (Genesis 2:15-16)
Then God gives us an even more detailed description of what food items should be in a healthy kitchen in the following verses:
“AND GOD SAID, Behold, I have given you every herb (vegetable) bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat (food). . . . AND GOD SAW everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.” (Genesis 1:29,31a)
What Did God’s “Kitchen” Look Like?
First, God’s kitchen was located outside in a garden. Because this garden was in a warm climate where food was able to grow year-round, food was readily available on a daily basis. God then created the first “gardeners” – Adam and Eve.
“And the Lord God said it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. . . . And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon ADAM , and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from the man, made he a woman. . . . And Adam called his wife’s name EVE.” “Genesis 2:18, 21-22, 3:20)
“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” (Genesis 2:23-24)
So what have we learned thus far? God has created a man and then a woman, and placed them in a garden that was to be the source of nourishment for their physical bodies.
From these beginning verses in the book of Genesis (the book of Beginnings) we have already learned a lot of information that will help us on our journey to discovering “What a Healthy Kitchen Looks Like.”
What Foods Qualify To Be In A Healthy Kitchen?
First, let’s take a look at what qualifications God said a food must have in order to qualify as a food to be in the kitchen of Adam and Eve:
“AND GOD SAID, Behold I have given you every herb (vegetable) bearing SEED, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding SEED; to you it shall be for meat (food).” (Genesis 1:29)
In other words, the only foods that qualified to meet God’s standard to be in that first kitchen (Adam & Eve’s kitchen) were plant-sourced.
Furthermore, these foods had to be living foods that had their enzymes (life force) still intact, and also had the ability to reproduce from a seed. This fact was extremely important, because if the food didn’t have the ability to reproduce for all eternity to support human life, the food supply would run out! This would be the end of man’s ability to live and perpetuate the human race on planet earth.
The foods that qualified to be in that first kitchen included all enzymatically alive fruits and vegetables capable of reproducing from the seed contained in the food or on the plant from which the food came, including (but not limited to):
- Fruits: Apples, peaches, pears, plums, nectarines, watermelon, cantaloupe, bananas, persimmon, grapes, blueberries, etc., as well as those foods we often consider vegetables which are technically fruits because they contain the seed within (tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers, avocados, etc).
- Vegetables: Called “herbs” in the Bible, these would include all leafy greens such as lettuce, kale, and collards, as well as celery, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, beets, potatoes, sweet potatoes, kohlrabi, onions, leeks, garlic, as well as the grains of corn, barley, etc, and beans.
What Foods Do NOT Qualify To Be In A Healthy Kitchen?
The listing of foods that would not qualify to be in Adam and Eve’s kitchen is a very long one but these disqualified foods are really easy to determine…
Any food that does not come from a seed, have its enzymes intact and the ability to reproduce would be disqualified.
These include all animal flesh, because it is not plant-based as God clearly instructed Adam it must be in Genesis 1:29. Nor is animal flesh enzymatically alive.
Other disqualified foods include all manufactured and processed foods found in any type container, and technically any food that has been cooked. Once a food has been cooked, even though it qualified before cooking to be in a healthy kitchen, loses its ability to reproduce because the heat destroys its enzymes (life-force).
How Close Can We Come to Meeting God’s Criteria Today?
Meeting God’s criteria for a healthy kitchen isn’t as hard as it might at first appear. While most people do not live in a warm climate, or in a garden, people who live in a house with even a small lawn or amount of ground bordering their home can have a raised bed garden in which they can grow an amazing amount of food during the growing season.
For instance, in just one square yard of ground, 16 lettuce plants could be grown per month during growing season; 64 carrots; or one cherry tomato bearing 100’s of small tomatoes. Or you can grow an amazing amount of fresh garden foods in containers or large pots on a porch or patio that receives sun most of the day.
Rhonda and I have three 4×12 foot raised beds near our kitchen door in which we grow most of our vegetables from April through November. In addition we have planted an edible landscape for our fruit foods. A person who has as little as one eighth of an acre can create an edible landscape around their home and literally live in a garden.
Rhonda and I currently have 47 blueberry bushes, 5 thornless blackberries, six scuppernong (muscadine) grape vines, three fig trees, plus two apple trees, a peach and pear tree, along with a persimmon tree. All our garden foods are grown organically, and we plan to slowly increase the varieties in coming years.
For those who do not live in a house where there is available space, we are so blessed today to have health food stores that often carry fresh organic garden produce. Many of today’s supermarkets are also carrying increasing varieties of fresh organic produce.
Now that we have learned what foods qualify for a Healthy Kitchen, we need to share how a person can set up a healthy kitchen… stay tuned for that in next week’s Health Tip!
I will take you on a literary tour of Rhonda’s kitchens (she has two of them), and share how she has set them up to promotes health rather than disease and sickness.
Rev. Malkmus and Rhonda Return From Florida

Rev. Malkmus Florida Speaking Tour A Great Success
Over the past nine days we have delivered six “God’s Way to Ultimate Health” seminars in six different Florida cities! We also taped a TV show with Arthelene Rippy for her “Home Keepers Show, conducted a 20-minute radio broadcast on the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church’s FM station, and delivered the Sunday morning message at the Grace Chapel Church in Jacksonville, Florida. What a tour!
Average attendance for the six seminars was over 200, and the testimonies which preceded each of the seminars were spectacular! More than a dozen people in each seminar shared all the physical problems that simply disappeared after adopting The Hallelujah Diet. It is so rewarding to see and hear how some people, sharing in tears, have been able to restore their health and even save their lives by simply changing their diet and lifestyle.
In the Bradenton seminar, a medical doctor was in attendance. He shared that while in medical school he had been given a copy of my book “Why Christians Get Sick.” The information in the book caused him to abandon an allopathic approach for his practice and pursue a holistic approach! Today he is a board certified family physician and has a Hallelujah Acres trained Health Minister on staff to help patients adopt The Hallelujah Diet which he says is foundational in restoring his patients to wellness.
Another highlight of the trip was being with Health Minister Graeme Coad and his dear wife Bev, who sponsored our Jacksonville seminar. Graeme had been Chaplin for the 700 Club for over 10 years when he was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer in 1995. He was given only a few years to live — but then adopted The Hallelujah Diet. What a thrill to hear him share his testimony! Now, at 74 years of age, he is still going strong and cancer-free on The Hallelujah Diet.
Thank you to all who prayed for these meeting and safe travel.
Girls Reaching Puberty As Young As Age 7
Jan 22nd
An increasing number of girls in the United States are reaching puberty as young as the age of seven, according to a study conducted by researchers from Cincinnati Children Hospital and published in the journal Pediatrics.
Researchers examined more than 1,200 girls between the ages of six and eight who were living in Cincinnati, San Francisco or East Harlem, N.Y. twice between 2004 and 2006. Each examination was conducted by a different female pediatrician, who determined the girls’ development of breast tissue.
The researchers found that 10.4% of Caucasian girls, 15% of Hispanic girls and 23.4% of African-American girls had developed breast tissue by the age of seven. By contrast, one study 10 years ago found that only 5% of Caucasian girls and 15.4% of African-American girls had developed breast tissue by that age. The prior study did not include Hispanic girls.
The new study further found that 18% of Caucasian girls, 31% of Hispanic girls and 43% of African-American girls had breast development by age eight. The prior study found breast tissue in only 10.5% of Caucasian girls and 36.6% of African-American girls at age eight.
Early onset of puberty can expose girls to both physical and social problems. It has been associated with a higher lifetime risk of breast cancer, and can expose emotionally immature young girls to sexual advances from older boys and men.
Researchers believe that rising rates of obesity and increasing exposure to hormone-disrupting chemicals are the two major causes of early puberty.
EDITOR NOTE – Through the years a number of mothers who have their families on The Hallelujah Diet have written expressing concern that their 12-14 year old daughters had not as yet experienced puberty while most of their classmates had. My response has been “Rejoice and be exceedingly glad!”
With the early onset of puberty these days, most do not realize that prior to World War II, most young girls did not initiate puberty until the age of 15 or after. That is apparently the age God intended. So what has happened to cause girls as young as age seven and eight to begin puberty in this current day?
The answer is diet and lifestyle! Prior to World War II animals were not injected with growth hormones to help them reach market faster, dairy cows were not injected with growth hormones in order to increase milk production, and refined soy products (loaded with estrogen-like compounds called estrogenic isoflavones) were not available in the numbers they are today.
In a normal healthy girl, the body naturally begins producing estrogen at around the age of 15. This is what initiates puberty. But when a girl eats a diet high in animal flesh and dairy, both containing estrogen, puberty is accelerated.
Dr. Russell Blaylock (a nationally respected, nutritionally-minded neurosurgeon) tells us that it is not unusual for baby girls fed soy-based formulas to develop breast buds as young as two years of age.
As noted in the research above, obesity and just being overweight, along with lack of exercise, also contributes to the initiation of early puberty.
Great First Saturday Seminar of 2011
Jan 17th
This past Saturday, January 8, we held our first God’s Way to Ultimate Health seminar of 2011 here at Hallelujah Acres in Shelby, North Carolina. (These seminars are usually held on the first Saturday of the month, but because of New Years Day falling on the first Saturday of January we moved it ahead to the 8th.)
The crowd nearly filled our auditorium, visiting from across North Carolina, and from Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia, and even as far away as Maine, New York, Ohio, and Oklahoma.
The highlights of these seminars are always the testimonies shared by those who have adopted The Hallelujah Diet and have seen their health improve. The testimonies shared this past Saturday were exceptional!
One gentleman shared that, prior to adopting The Hallelujah Diet 11 years ago, he had severe heart issues, osteoporosis, and emphysema, along with numerous other problems. He said that all of these problems disappeared after making the diet change. He is 87 years of age and medication-free!
An 83-year-old lady shared how she had been suffering with diabetes, excess weight, and lack of energy for many years prior to adopting The Hallelujah Diet. Today her energy is great, her weight is normal, and she is no longer diabetic.
Others testified of incredible changes in health: loss of over 100 pounds; had slept half their life before diet change but now has energy to go all day long without a nap; PSA drops in two weeks; hot flashes gone; lifetime of constipation gone in 2 weeks.
Rev. Malkmus will deliver his next God’s Way to Ultimate Health seminar here at Hallelujah Acres in Shelby, North Carolina on Saturday, February 5 at 10:00 a.m. Visit our website for more information.
How Often Should Women Have Mammograms?
Jan 15th
With all of the attention given to breast cancer this year (think of all the “pink” products you saw pledging to give to the cause), the issue of mammograms has again taken center stage. But is this form of “prevention” ill-advised?
Dr. Russell Blaylock is a nationally respected, nutritionally minded neurosurgeon, author and lecturer. In his December 2010 edition of The Blaylock Report, he revealed some surprising facts about this controversial screening method.
“I am now opposed to all mammograms,” Dr. Blaylock stated. “The breast is highly sensitive to the effects of radiation. Radiation effects are cumulative, they add up from year to year.”
In fact, Dr. Blaylock said that irradiating the breasts of a woman with a family history of breast cancer is likely to cause breast cancer!
What does he recommend instead? “A woman can reduce her risk of breast cancer dramatically by taking at least 5,000 IU of vitamin D3 a day,” Dr. Blaylock states. Taking curcumin and drinking “blenderized vegetables” (blended salads) every day will also dramatically reduce risk, he said.
If you want some kind of screening, have a thermogram or an ultrasound of the breast instead. An MRI of the breast which uses no radiation is also very accurate.
