Gardner Webb Nutrition Class Invitation
Jan 17th
Dear Rev. Malkmus, Happy New Year to you!
My name is Amy and I currently teach Nutrition here at Gardner-Webb University. I have heard about Hallelujah Acres through the grapevine and was wondering if you would be willing to come and talk to my class about your story, the Hallelujah Diet, and anything else you would like to share.
In my nutrition class I lecture from the textbook. I am looking for outside speakers to help further enhance the student’s knowledge and thoughts regarding nutrition. If you would be willing to come and speak to my class I would be beyond appreciative.
Thank you and God bless you!
EDITOR’S NOTE: Arrangements have been made and confirmed that I will be speaking to Amy’s class on February 24th at 10:00 a.m. at Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. I would really appreciate your prayers as I share God’s Health plan with the students in this Christian University http://www.gardner-webb.edu/ a university located only a few miles from Hallelujah Acres and the Villages of Hallelujah Acres.
Excess Weight and an Expanding Waistline – A Matter of Choice
Jan 12th
On January 7th, Hallelujah Acres launched a 60 Day Program to help all who wish to participate obtain a slimmer, healthier waistline. Over 3,500 were registered when we began the 60 Day Program and more are still signing up each day. The program includes weekly webinars, daily e-mail tips to inspire and keep you informed, along with many other perks. To learn more about this incredible weight loss program as well as how to register to participate in the program, visit www.hacres.com/60days.
Excess Weight Sets the Stage for Many Physical Problems
The sad truth is that obesity has reached epidemic proportions, and this obesity precipitates or aggravates almost every acute and chronic disease being experienced today. Many of the seriously obese suffer with cardiovascular disease and/or diabetes, along with a multitude of other symptoms. The good news is, that usually all one needs do to eliminate obesity and all the symptoms that accompany it, is simply change what is being consumed in the form of food and drink and to start exercising.
Sadly, the prognosis for ever being able to leave the slavery of obesity, and obtaining the slim and trim physical body God designed for each of His human creations is very bleak. Statistics reveal that only about five percent of those who seriously attempt to lose weight are able to take off the desired amount of weight and keep it off. These sad statistics reveal the ineffectiveness of most of the weight-loss diet programs being offered and adopted by an ever-increasing number of overweight Americans.
Last week, we shared that diet and lack of exercise were the CAUSE of almost all obesity, expanding waistlines, and overweight problems being experienced today. We also shared that The Hallelujah Diet is the very best weight loss program available today. Read last week’s Health Tip #633 in its entirety.
Excess Weight and an Expanding Waistline Is a Matter of Choice
The Hallelujah Diet eliminates all four of the fat producing items found in the Standard American Diet (refined sugar, refined carbohydrates, animal fat, and table salt) the very items responsible for most of the excess weight and obesity plaguing over 60% of our population today. (We elaborated on these four fat producing items in last week’s Health Tip #633),
In the place of all these fat-producing items, The Hallelujah Diet provides highly nutritious, fiber rich, complex carbohydrates; healthy, predominantly raw foods that nourish the body. Everyone wants their hunger to be satisfied, and everyone has the ability to CHOOSE what they will satisfy that hunger with.
If a person chooses to satisfy their hunger with healthy foods, and start exercising, they will experience health and a slim, trip body. If they choose to satisfy that hunger with foods that are unhealthy, and fail to exercise, they will experience an unhealthy body and an expanding waistline. It is all very simple to understand.
For the past 34 years, this editor has chosen to satisfy his hunger with healthy foods and maintain a simple daily exercise program. As a result, I have at almost 76 years-of–age (birthday will be February 12th), a healthy body that is slim (31/32” waistline), trim, and muscular body, without an ache or pain in my body. And might I add that I do not suffer from lack of delicious, mouth watering, satisfying foods. Yes, Hallelujah Diet foods can be absolutely delicious, along with being satisfying and highly nutritious.
Americans Are the Most Overfed – Undernourished People in the History of the World.
The average person in the USA consumes 3,393 calories per day, which is phenomenal. That’s the highest caloric intake of any nation’s people in the world. Yet the average American is sadly undernourished. Yes, the average American is starving to death on a full stomach.
The reason Americans are “overfed” is because they are consuming the Standard American Diet (SAD). Fat comprises 37% of the SAD. Refined sugar makes up 24% of the SAD. Refined carbohydrates make up 27% of the SAD. The person consuming the Standard American Diet takes into their body each and every day of their life, almost twice the number of recommended calories.
The American people are “undernourished” because when they consume the SAD, the greatest percentage of these 3,393 calories is coming from foods that are almost totally devoid of nutrition. The SAD is seriously unbalanced and lacking in vitamins, minerals and enzymes, while being dangerously high in protein and bad fat. Most of the protein being consumed is toxic; the fat is high in saturation and cholesterol; while most of the carbohydrates are refined.
We Live In a Rat Race
Twenty years ago, Victoria Bidwell wrote a book titled The Health Seekers Yearbook in which she had the following to say about the situation the average Christian (as well as all other peoples) in America find themselves in today:
“We live in a rat race where compulsiveness, competitiveness, and craziness have ‘short-circuited’ the neuro-anatomy of nearly all the American people. The result is a ‘hyped-up’ state of being that – unfortunately – nearly all of us have learned to sedate with the drug of our choice. For the vast majority trapped in the suffering class of America, this chosen drug is food!
“And those not suffering from SAD food addiction are hooked on alcohol, tobacco, and/or recreational drugs. Others are slaves to killing emotions and leave a trail of shattered lives wherever they go. Our society even caters to this sort of thing. Indeed, fortunes are made on pitiable-short circuitry.
“The Television screen flashes food commercials into the average American home. The supermarket fronts The Disease Industry’s conspiracy to keep us chemically addicted and overfed. The fast-food eateries and steak houses are as dangerous to the foodaholic as bars are to the alcoholic.
“The custom of mixing social affairs with food so confuses us that we connect eating with love, friendship, and happiness – and then we turn desperately to food when socially isolated to provide what it simply never can provide. The result is a Nation rampant with ‘eating disorders,’ teeming with unconnected, misdirected citizens, continually taking in more food than needed. Consumed by ‘The American Dream Unfulfilled,’ regrettably, we have become diseased, demoralized, and decadent. America is the fattest nation in the world.”
Here’s What This Editor Has to Say about the Situation
Instead of becoming soldiers for Jesus, the average Christian has become a slave to appetite and self gratification. Instead of looking unto Jesus ‘the author and finisher of our faith,’ we have turned inward. Instead of spending our lives trying to help others, we spend most of our time trying to gratify and satisfy ourselves. Most in the Christian Community have never learned self-discipline. The Church of Jesus Christ has become decadent. It has lost its way and its testimony, in a world that desperately needs Godly example to lead the way back to sanity.
How to Begin the Journey Back To Sanity
We must start in our personal Jerusalem – in our own physical body! The Bible challenges us with these words:
“What? Know ye not that YOUR BODY is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in YOU, which ye have of God and that ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God IN YOUR BODY, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (I Corinthians 6:19-20)
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service, and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2)
Hallelujah Acres Is Here To Help People Journey Back To Sanity
Hallelujah Acres is engaged in a huge uphill battle against great odds, because most in the Christian Community are addicted to the Standard American Diet (SAD), the diet of modern Egypt. This fat and sickness producing diet is consumed by almost every Christian (as well as non-Christian) and promoted in almost every church in the land.
Hallelujah Acres is trying to bring God’s people out of this modern Egypt racked with obesity and disease, and into the Promised Land of good health. “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health . . .” (3 John 2)
Sadly, most in the Christian Community do not realize that the diet they are consuming is the very cause of their excess weight, expanding waistline, and most every sickness they are experiencing, and asking God in prayer to rescue them from.
Israelites Didn’t React Well To God’s Attempt to Change Their Diet
Does the Christian Community appreciate the efforts of Hallelujah Acres? For the most part the answer is no. Biblical history tells us that what Hallelujah Acres is attempting to do today is being received no better than the way the Israelites reacted when God tried to change their diet from a flesh diet to a plant diet during their wilderness wanderings:
“And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, it is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.” (Exodus 16:15)
“And…the people complained…Who shall give us flesh to eat?” (Numbers 11:1-20)
Here we learn that when God was the dietician, He changed their diet from the high flesh diet they were eating in Egypt and fed the Israelites Manna, a pure plant based bread made with coriander seed. But the Israelites rebelled and complained about God’s plant based provision and demanded He give them “flesh.”
So God gave them what they asked for – sending them so much flesh food, derived from quail, that they got sick. The Scripture concludes by saying:
“And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord smote the people with a very great plague.” (Numbers 11:33)
Hallelujah Acres to the Rescue
The diet of modern Egypt, the Standard American Diet (SAD), has produced a “plague” of monumental proportions. The Christian Community is just as sick as the non-Christian Community, while prayer requests for sickness dominate our mid-week prayer services. And after prayer and the doctors fail to restore health, we tell the bereaving at the funeral we don’t understand why they died.
Over 90% of all deaths are the result of heart attacks, strokes, or cancer, while arthritis debilitates multitudes and diabetes is epidemic. Fatigue and mental fog hinders a great number of our people, while over 60% of the Christian Community are overweight and many so overweight they are handicapped. I believe God has raised up Hallelujah Acres for such a time as this!
The Hallelujah Diet and Lifestyle we proclaim here at Hallelujah Acres is based on God’s original Genesis 1:29 Garden of Eden Diet, and is the lifeline being offered God’s people for this day in which we live. And this lifeline is available to “Whosoever will, may come”, Christian or non-Christian.
This lifeline has the power to restore the health of almost everyone who has ever grabbed hold of it. And anyone who will faithfully embrace it can still usually rid themselves of most of their physical problems, including their excess weight.
And for most reading this, your health can be restored and you can become a strong, physically active, and healthy soldier in God’s army – a soldier fit for the Master’s use. Won’t you join me, Rhonda, and Hallelujah Acres and become a part of this Healthy Army of God? Please say “Yes.”
Onward Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
Forward into battle see His banners go!At the sign of triumph Satan’s host doth flee;
On then, Christian soldiers, on to victory!
Hell’s foundation quiver at the shout of praise;
Brothers lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.Like a mighty army moves the church of God;
Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.
We are not divided, all one body we,
One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.Onward then, ye people, join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.
Glory, laud and honor unto Christ the King,
This through countless ages men and angels sing.

Hearty Split Pea Soup
Jan 9th

Well, I’m not a prophet, but I sure was right when I said “January in most areas of the United States is the coldest month of the year,” because most of the central and eastern parts of the U.S. have been in the deep freeze in recent weeks.
And talk about Global Warming – Why friends, Global Warming is one of the biggest hoaxes ever perpetrated upon not only the American people but on most of the nations of the world. If we have anything, we have Global Cooling! (See my article titled “Scientists Say Global Warming Just Isn’t So”.)
So since it is still winter and still cold in most of the United States, let’s enjoy another heart healthy and body warming soup this week.
There is just something warming and comforting about a home-made bowl of a vegetarian soup on a cold winters evening and this split pea soup should fill the bill, and by the way, split peas are very inexpensive, thus making a very economical meal. Full Recipe
Cancer Free After One Year!
Jan 8th
Annette is a 52-year-old homemaker who lives in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, and has been on The Hallelujah Diet and Lifestyle for a year and a half. After being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2008, she went on the Hallelujah Recovery Diet. Now she’s cancer-free and having even more health benefits. Read her full testimony here.
Scientist Says Global Warming Just Isn’t So
Jan 8th
On Sunday, January 3, 2010, the former director of the National Hurricane Center called for an investigation into the “scientific debauchery revealed by ‘Climategate,’” citing the way global warming skeptics have been marginalized in the mainstream media in a Newsmax article.
Neil Frank, who directed the National Hurricane Center for over a decade tells us that some scientists played with data in order to show CO2 had an effect on warming and then marginalized global warming skeptics.
Frank went on to say that “Among the more troubling revelations were data adjustments enhancing the perception that man is causing global warming through the release of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other atmospheric greenhouse gases.”
“Particularly disturbing was the way the core IPCC scientists (the believers) marginalized the skeptics of the theory that man-make global warming is large and potentially catastrophic,” Frank wrote.
Frank continued: “Several years ago two scientists at the University of Oregon became so concerned about the overemphasis on man-made global warming that they put a statement on their Web site and asked for people’s endorsement; 32,000 have signed the petition, including more than 9,000 Ph.Ds. More than 700 scientists have endorsed a 231-page Senate minority report questioning man-made global warming. . . .
Last year 60 German scientists sent a letter to Chancellor Angela Merkel urging her to ‘strongly reconsider’ her position supporting man-made global warming. Sixty scientists in Canada took similar action. Recently, when the American Physical Society published its support for man-made global warming, 200 of its members objected and demanded that the membership be polled to determine the APS’ true position.
Frank concluded: “Believers think the warming is created by man, but skeptics believe the warming is natural and contributions from man are minimal and certainly not potentially catastrophic. . . . We are being told that numerical models that cannot make accurate 5 to 10 day forecasts can be simplified and run forward for 100 years with results so reliable you can impose an economic disaster on the U.S. and the world.
EDITOR’S NOTE: CO2 is not a pollutant but rather vital for plant life. In fact, field experiments have shown that higher levels of CO2 have a positive effect on agricultural activity. And let’s not forget that we humans take in oxygen and exhale CO2.
There are some who want to tax all sources of CO2 gases, which if enacted would add an estimated $2,000 in taxes to every citizen in the United States. (To learn more Google: “The Global Warming Hoax”.)
The Hallelujah Diet – America’s Best Weight Loss Program
Jan 5th
On January 7, 2010, Hallelujah Acres will launch a 60 Days to a Hallelujah Waistline, a program to help all who wish to participate obtain a slimmer, healthier waistline. The program will include weekly webinars, daily e-mail tips to inspire and keep you informed, along with many other perks. To learn more about this incredible weight loss program as well as how to register to participate in the program, visit 60 Days to a Hallelujah Waistline.
With over 60% of America’s population overweight and obesity rapidly becoming an epidemic among not only adults, but also our youth, I believe it is high time Americans learned about a weight loss program that achieves better results, faster, and at less cost than any other available today. The name of this weigh loss program is The Hallelujah Acres Diet and Lifestyle! And this Diet originated with God!
HOW SERIOUS IS THIS EXPANDED WAIST LINE PROBLEM
With over 60% of the American population overweight, that means that over 180 million Americans are carrying at least 10 pounds more than they should be carrying for their height and bone structure. An estimated 54 million are defined as “clinically obese’, which means that they weigh 20% or more than their recommended ideal weight. A smaller, yet rapidly growing number are considered “morbidly obese” which means that their excess weight is putting such a strain on their body they could die at any moment.
HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE HALLELUJAH DIET IN LOSING WEIGHT
Though we have hundreds of testimonies of folks losing 50 pounds or more after adopting The Hallelujah Diet and Lifestyle, I will share just a few of those testimonies below, and then if you desire, you can go to Weight Loss Testimonials and read many more.
CLENT LOSES 206 POUNDS IN TEN MONTHS ON THE HALLELUJAH DIET
As for the kinds of weight loss results others have obtained after adopting The Hallelujah Diet, you might like to learn about Clent M. After adopting The Hallelujah Diet in January 2008, by October 2008, ten months later, Clent had lost 206 pounds. You can read all about Clent’s remarkable weight loss in his own words, as well as see some pictures of him, in our featured testimony of Health Tip #53.
THIRTY-TWO ADULTS LOSE OVER 700 POUNDS IN JUST SIX MONTHS
Several years ago I taught, at my pastor’s request, a 12-lesson course titled Biblical Nutrition 101 over a six-month period in the church I was attending at the time. Thirty-two adults completed the course, and on the final night of the class, those who had completed the course reported a combined weight loss of over 700 pounds during the preceding six months. The course I taught is available as a FREE download.
THE CAUSE OF EXCESS WEIGHT AND OBESITY
Before we proceed any further, I want to bring to our attention a verse from the Bible that bears heavily on this issue of excess weight and obesity. The verse is found in Proverbs 12:2, and reads as follows: “The curse CAUSELESS shall not come.”
As we take a closer look at the subject of excess weight, obesity, and expanded waistlines, we need to realize that the “curse” (excess weight, obesity, and expanding waistlines) will not occur without a “cause.” And in most instances, the “cause” of excess weight and obesity is not in the genes or glandular, but rather in the food choices of the individual who is carrying that excess weight.
Following are the major factors contributing to excess weight:
THE REFINED SUGAR FACTOR
Refined sugar is an addictive drug and the primary cause of weight gain. The average man, woman, and child in America consumes some 172 pounds of refined sugar each and every year. This amount of sugar breaks down to approximately 50 teaspoons of refined sugar being consumed each and every day of the year by every person in America. And this doesn’t even factor in the sugar derived from the refined carbohydrates, which rapidly turns into sugar.
If a person were to consume just one 12 oz. can of soft drink a day for one year, they could increase their weight by 15 pounds. Yet, there are overweight people who consume liter bottles of these soft drinks daily. Refined sugar is extremely high in caloric value. Consider also that sugar is invariably baked or cooked into some high-fat, high salt, irresistibly tempting goodies like ice cream, cakes, cookies, cinnamon buns, etc., ingredients that cause the body to gain even more weight. Because refined sugar is an addictive drug, the person who wants to lose weight, will usually continue to consume it.
The USDA recommends that the average adult, consuming a 2,000-calorie diet, should consume no more than 40 grams of sugar per day from all sources. It might startle the average person to learn that just one teaspoon of refined sugar contains 4 grams of sugar and 16 calories. Thus one 12 oz. soft drink, contains 11 teaspoons of sugar, and the person who consumes that single soft drink places into their body 44 grams of sugar and about 176 calories. In other words, that single soft drink contains more sugar than the USDA recommends for the entire day. If the average person consumes 50 teaspoons of sugar daily from all sources, that person placed into their body 200 grams (5 times USDA recommended limit) of sugar and over 800 calories.
AREN’T ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS AND DIET SODAS A BETTER CHOICE?
Regarding artificial sweeteners – Many believe that artificial sweeteners and diet sodas are a better choice, but not according to Dr. Neal Nedley, who writes in his book Proof Positive (on page 187) the following: “Do the low calorie soft drinks really work? … One study of over 75,000 women ages 50-69 found that users of artificial sweeteners were significantly more likely than non-users to gain weight over time. … We found that hunger increases after drinking aspartame sweetened soda.”
THE REFINED CARBOHYDRATE FACTOR
Refined carbohydrates (such as white flour products and white rice) contribute to making a person fat, just as refined sugars do. Unrefined carbs, such as whole grains, beans, legumes, fruits and vegetables, help keep a person lean. The difference between a refined carb and an unrefined carb is FIBER. In fact, unrefined carbs pack a powerful punch when it comes to fighting fat.
WHY FIBER IS SO IMPORTANT
Scientists at the University Hospital of London, Ontario compared the FIBER intake of different individuals. They found that those individuals who had a healthy weight ate 30% more FIBER than the overweight individuals. The only source of FIBER is plant foods, and because The Hallelujah Diet is extremely high in the use of plant foods, the diet is exceptionally high in FIBER content.
High FIBER foods help people lose weight for several reasons: First, because the food contains FIBER, it requires more chewing time, and thus slows down food intake. Second, FIBER has more bulk, and thus fills the person up with fewer calories. Third, FIBER stabilizes blood sugar levels and stimulates less insulin secretion, which translates into weight loss. And since we can’t digest FIBER, we can’t absorb calories from it.
In his book Carbohydrates from Hell, Carbohydrates from Heaven, author James Krystosik has this to say about FIBER: “Anyone trying to improve their health and lose weight should take advantage of FIBER, one of nature’s best appetite suppressants. Remember FIBER is a non-digestible form of carbohydrate, which passes through the digestive system without ever adding one single calorie. FIBER absorbs water, swells inside the stomach, and creates a sense of fullness. Now your brain gets the message that your hunger has been satisfied. High FIBER foods also satisfy the sensation of hunger longer than refined food, which means you end up eating fewer calories and thus lose weight.”
And let’s not forget that refined grains, in addition to helping make one fat, upsets normal blood sugar levels, causing mental and physical imbalances. When refined starches are eaten, a high percentage of the starch is quickly broken down into simple sugars, hitting the bloodstream and causing alarm to an exhausted pancreas and/or adrenals. In short, this amounts to the same objectionable diabetic/hypoglycemic reactions initiated by refined sugars.
THE ANIMAL FAT FACTOR
The average American consumes a high-fat diet. For instance, the average consumer of animal source foods in America consumes some 100 pounds of animal fat yearly. This becomes important when we recognize that weight gain is often related to getting too many calories from fat rather than getting them from complex carbohydrates as God intended. In the research lab, animals on high fat diets gain more weight than their peers on a low-fat regimen—even when both groups eat the same number of calories.
Animal source foods are the primary source of fat in the average diet. Each of the following foods provides the body with 10 grams of saturated fat: 2 cups of whole milk; 1 double hamburger; 2/3 serving of macaroni & cheese; 1 cup of ice cream; 2 cups of plain yogurt; 2 slices of American processed cheese. (Source: Proof Positive, page 24)
Cheese has the honor of being one of the most fat-laden foods being consumed today! Often, people will consume a salad (which is a healthy food), but then load it up with cheese—a very unhealthy and fattening food! Cheese is one of the most destructive foods one can place into their body!
Fat contains 9 calories per gram. Therefore, each pound of fat (454 grams) contributes 4,086 calories. If the average person consumes 100 pounds of animal fat per year that means that person consumes 408,600 calories per year, or 1,119 calories from animal fat each and every day of the year, which amounts to approximately half of their daily caloric intake.
When we add the 800 calories from refined sugar being consumed by the average person each day, to the average of over 1,000 calories from animal fat being consumed by each person each day, we learn that most of the calories being consumed each day originate in the two most fattening foods one can consume. Is it any wonder the average person in America is overweight?
THE TABLE SALT FACTOR
Table salt, besides being a poison and totally devoid of FIBER, causes the body to retain fluid. In reality, it is not the table salt that retains the water, but rather the body retains the water so that the toxic sodium/chloride concentration is reduced, thus causing less irritation and less caustic concentrations. In other words, the body recognizes the table salt as a poison and acts to protect itself, by diluting the highly irritating crystals.
This retained water adds water weight to the body. When a person stops placing table salt into their body, the body starts releasing the retained water to keep all that toxic sodium/chloride from doing damage. This is why it is not unusual for a person to lose 6, 8, 10, 12 or even more pounds within just a matter of days after adopting The Hallelujah Diet, a diet that eliminates table salt.
EXCESS WEIGHT AND AN EXPANDING WAISTLINE IS A MATTER OF CHOICE
One of the reasons The Hallelujah Diet is the very best weight loss program available in America (actually the world) today, is because it eliminates all four of the above fat-producing, waistline-expanding items found in the Standard American Diet (SAD). Yes, The Hallelujah Diet eliminates the very items responsible for most of the excess weight and obesity plaguing over 60% of our nation’s people.
In place of all these fat-producing items, The Hallelujah Diet provides highly nutritious, complex carbohydrate, healthy, predominantly raw foods that nourish the body. Yes, God knew what He was doing when He gave Adam and Eve that original Genesis 1:29 diet—and it also provides the very best source of nourishment available today.
This editor, soon to be 76-years of age, after 34 years on The Hallelujah Diet, has a flat, rock hard, muscular stomach, a 32” waistline, and weighs in at 142 pounds at 5’9” in height. My wife Rhonda lost 85-pounds her first year after adopting The Hallelujah Diet. Won’t you consider giving The Hallelujah Diet a try by joining thousands of other who will be giving the diet a try for 60 days? To learn more go to 60 Days to a Hallelujah Waistline.
