Sister’s Story Changes Lives
Apr 14th
Since we began publishing this weekly electronic Hallelujah Health Tip 700 issues ago, email responses have increased dramatically. I read every one of them, but because of time restraints I’m not always able to respond.
These emails, especially those containing testimonies telling of improved health by those adopting The Hallelujah Diet, have been great motivators to my continuing to share God’s health message, even as I approach my 80th birthday. Please keep the letters coming!
Rev. M., I so appreciate your ministry. I have a strong witness as a pancreatic cancer ‘victor’ as a result of following and living The Hallelujah Diet.
Jackie W.
Dr. Malkmus, thank you so much for sharing the very personal story of your dear sister’s death due to radiation. Also, thank you for changing my health and life with the simple truths of God’s Word and your stunning testimony and devotion to this ministry.
I look forward to every Health Tip and magazine that comes from Hallelujah Acres. I read every word, which helps keep me on track. I am trying to help people in my family who are all believers in the medical system of today and suffering greatly as a result.
The ignorance is so profound in our society as to the simplicity of gaining and maintaining health and caring for our miraculous self-healing physical bodies. I am astounded every day at the abuse of the body and the lack of understanding of how to care for our most treasured possession.
God bless you and Rhonda and all those at Hallelujah Acres who are changing the world and giving us hope. What a fabulous and important work you do in the name of the Lord. Thank you! I have been very ill most of my life, but now at the age of 62, as a result of adopting The Hallelujah Diet, I am thriving!
Marcia F.
Rev. Malkmus, my sincere thanks for the free seminar you and your group provided there at Hallelujah Acres in Shelby, North Carolina on April 2. Three of us attended because we wanted to learn more about The Hallelujah Diet and unexpectedly gained a sincere appreciation for your spiritual and physical enthusiasm. Your heart of a minister was very evident.
We encourage you to continue with using your personal ministry of effectively changing lives. Your sincerity prompted all three of us to want to try improving our health by following your logic and teachings. Your continued excitement over something you have been speaking for the past 20 years was genuinely respected and received.

Rev. George, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2007. I had a decision to make: go the medical route or alternative route. I chose the alternative route, purchased Dr. Lorraine Day’s Cancer Doesn’t Scare Me Anymore, and implemented a 100% plant based diet.
After following this plant based diet for 18 months, the cancer was no longer detectable!
After that wonderful news, I made a very poor decision to slowly return to my bad eating habits and the cancer returned. Why it took me so long I don’t know, but on March 30, 2011 I surrendered and made the commitment like I did in 2007 to follow God’s eating plan as outlined in your Hallelujah Diet.
With God’s blessing, I believe I will be able to reverse my breast cancer once again. Thank you for speaking the truth. Rev. Malkmus, you are helping so many people change their lives, including mine. Thank you!
Brenda P.
I am a Hallelujah Acres trained Health Minister and have been enjoying great health as a result of adopting The Hallelujah Diet.
I read your article about your sister’s battle with cancer and radiation. This week my mother-in-law, a heavy smoker, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and is in the hospital receiving radiation and chemotherapy. The family has all been spending time visiting her, and I have been holding her hand and kissing her.
After reading of your sister’s radiation and the exposing of your niece and nephew to her radiation (causing them to develop thyroid cancer), I am wondering about the possible dangers of radiation exposure coming from visiting my mother-in-law. Wow, what an eye opener your article was!
I am wondering if we should limit our visits with my mother-in-law, take potassium iodide, question the doctor about risks, while they are poisoning her? Any ideas?
I know the family will not agree to any other treatments of her cancer other than radiation and chemotherapy due to fear. Her daughter is an oncology nurse by the way. Thank you so much for shedding light on this concern!
Donna D.EDITOR RESPONDS: Hi Donna. Concern for radiation exposure is limited to those dealing with thyroid cancers who have received radioactive iodine to kill the thyroid. These patients are normally isolated and visitors not allowed until the radioactive iodine has had time to be eliminated from the system. Early contact with these patients can lead to damage of the thyroid and ultimately thyroid cancer.
Typical radiation treatments such as your mother-in-law received may damage surrounding tissue in the patient receiving the treatment but to the best of my knowledge these patients do not pose a risk to those around them or visiting them. The potential danger in these treatments occurs during the treatment itself. That is why those administering the treatment need to be shielded during the radiation treatment.

It is the testimonies that flow in constantly from across America and around the world that have inspired me! And I know they inspire and motivate so many others to adopt The Hallelujah Diet. Please keep those letters and testimonies coming and remember I read them, every one.
“Dear Rev. Malkmus, I was so excited to learn that you were coming to Valdosta Georgia – that is until I learned the date you were to be here. I am going to be in Thailand on that date. I hope you have a great turn out and that you need to come back to Valdosta soon so that I can hear and meet you. May God continue to bless you and your ministry as you try and educate people as to how to be healthy! Thanks for all your hard work.”
Kim T., Valdosta, Georgia
“Dear Rev. Malkmus, I’m writing this note from Nigeria. I am a medical practitioner with a history of rheumatoid arthritis since I turned 40 years old in 1997. I have been on medications (steroids) for the past 13 years for this condition.
Three weeks ago I was privileged to learn about The Hallelujah Diet and adopted it. I purchased some BarleyMax, a juicer, and started drinking fresh glasses of carrot juice plus eating lots of salads each day. Results in just three weeks are that I haven’t had so much energy in a long time and I am tapering off my steroids.
I feel at the top of the world and want to say a big thank you to you and I pray God will continue to bless you as you bless others. I look forward to coming to America and becoming a Health Minister. Will keep you posted as my health continues to improve.”
Victoria S., Nigeria, Africa
“Hi George and Rhonda, I just want to say ‘hello’ from South Africa. I have now been on The Hallelujah Diet for seven years, my health is great, and am currently teaching children with Autism here in South Africa. George, do you remember our birthdays are on the same day? February 12. Have a wonderful birthday and a blessed New Year.”
Jeanette F., South Africa
“Dear Dr. Malkmus, Congratulations on your decision to slow down a little. I hope that my husband and I can come to Shelby soon and experience your seminar there at Hallelujah Acres headquarters. We first met you on the Jim Bakker television show when we adopted The Hallelujah Diet. Then we heard you again when you spoke in New Bern, North Carolina. We are most grateful for the information that you make available at no cost for all to hear. May God richly bless you, Rhonda and the Hallelujah Acres family in this New Year!”
Frances and Guy H., New Bern, North Carolina
“Hello George, In response to your Health Tip in which you asked ‘What is the Size of your Family’, I am sad to say that a part of our family is not sized well. My husband and I are now sized well thanks to The Hallelujah Diet. In fact, we are in the best shape of our lives! But it is my children, ages 22 and 25 that that I am concerned about, because they are both obese.
My daughter worries me the most – She is 5’2” tall and is carrying around almost 300 pounds. She is in college and with each passing year carries around more weight. When I try and talk to her about her weight, my efforts are met with resentment. She has everything to live for and is a very talented musician. I’m at my wit’s end and feel so helpless. Thank you for listening.”
Varian K, Kentucky
“Hello George, I just wanted to thank God that I have at last found your website I have been suffering from rheumatoid arthritis for seven years and for the first time in all those years have hope. My question is: ‘If I remain on my rheumatoid arthritis medications will the Hallelujah Diet still be effective?”
Kathleen A.
EDITOR RESPONDS – Kathleen, Congratulations on considering The Hallelujah Diet. Absolutely, the diet will work for those on medications. In fact, it is not uncommon for folks to find that after they have been on The Hallelujah Diet for even a short period of time, they have less need for medication and it is time to seek their doctor’s help in weaning off those medications. Many of those suffering with rheumatoid arthritis have written to tell how after making a diet change their condition has improved dramatically.
What Does A Healthy Kitchen Look Like?
Jan 25th
In recent Health Tips we have evaluated the “size” of your family and what items are found in a weight-gaining kitchen.
In this Health Tip we are going to explore what comprises a healthy kitchen; those items that will not only produce health, but also produce a body that is slim and trim and fit for the Master’s use. We will also consider those items that do not qualify to be in a healthy kitchen.
What Does A Healthy Kitchen Look Like?
We are going to begin our search for the answer to that question by going to the source of all truth, the Bible, and see what we can learn from God, the Creator of mankind, about the subject:
“And the Lord God formed man of the dust (dirt, minerals) of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the Lord God planted a garden eastward of Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.” (Genesis 2:7-8)
“And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food. . . . And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.” (Genesis 2:15-16)
Then God gives us an even more detailed description of what food items should be in a healthy kitchen in the following verses:
“AND GOD SAID, Behold, I have given you every herb (vegetable) bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat (food). . . . AND GOD SAW everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.” (Genesis 1:29,31a)
What Did God’s “Kitchen” Look Like?
First, God’s kitchen was located outside in a garden. Because this garden was in a warm climate where food was able to grow year-round, food was readily available on a daily basis. God then created the first “gardeners” – Adam and Eve.
“And the Lord God said it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. . . . And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon ADAM , and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from the man, made he a woman. . . . And Adam called his wife’s name EVE.” “Genesis 2:18, 21-22, 3:20)
“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” (Genesis 2:23-24)
So what have we learned thus far? God has created a man and then a woman, and placed them in a garden that was to be the source of nourishment for their physical bodies.
From these beginning verses in the book of Genesis (the book of Beginnings) we have already learned a lot of information that will help us on our journey to discovering “What a Healthy Kitchen Looks Like.”
What Foods Qualify To Be In A Healthy Kitchen?
First, let’s take a look at what qualifications God said a food must have in order to qualify as a food to be in the kitchen of Adam and Eve:
“AND GOD SAID, Behold I have given you every herb (vegetable) bearing SEED, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding SEED; to you it shall be for meat (food).” (Genesis 1:29)
In other words, the only foods that qualified to meet God’s standard to be in that first kitchen (Adam & Eve’s kitchen) were plant-sourced.
Furthermore, these foods had to be living foods that had their enzymes (life force) still intact, and also had the ability to reproduce from a seed. This fact was extremely important, because if the food didn’t have the ability to reproduce for all eternity to support human life, the food supply would run out! This would be the end of man’s ability to live and perpetuate the human race on planet earth.
The foods that qualified to be in that first kitchen included all enzymatically alive fruits and vegetables capable of reproducing from the seed contained in the food or on the plant from which the food came, including (but not limited to):
- Fruits: Apples, peaches, pears, plums, nectarines, watermelon, cantaloupe, bananas, persimmon, grapes, blueberries, etc., as well as those foods we often consider vegetables which are technically fruits because they contain the seed within (tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers, avocados, etc).
- Vegetables: Called “herbs” in the Bible, these would include all leafy greens such as lettuce, kale, and collards, as well as celery, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, beets, potatoes, sweet potatoes, kohlrabi, onions, leeks, garlic, as well as the grains of corn, barley, etc, and beans.
What Foods Do NOT Qualify To Be In A Healthy Kitchen?
The listing of foods that would not qualify to be in Adam and Eve’s kitchen is a very long one but these disqualified foods are really easy to determine…
Any food that does not come from a seed, have its enzymes intact and the ability to reproduce would be disqualified.
These include all animal flesh, because it is not plant-based as God clearly instructed Adam it must be in Genesis 1:29. Nor is animal flesh enzymatically alive.
Other disqualified foods include all manufactured and processed foods found in any type container, and technically any food that has been cooked. Once a food has been cooked, even though it qualified before cooking to be in a healthy kitchen, loses its ability to reproduce because the heat destroys its enzymes (life-force).
How Close Can We Come to Meeting God’s Criteria Today?
Meeting God’s criteria for a healthy kitchen isn’t as hard as it might at first appear. While most people do not live in a warm climate, or in a garden, people who live in a house with even a small lawn or amount of ground bordering their home can have a raised bed garden in which they can grow an amazing amount of food during the growing season.
For instance, in just one square yard of ground, 16 lettuce plants could be grown per month during growing season; 64 carrots; or one cherry tomato bearing 100’s of small tomatoes. Or you can grow an amazing amount of fresh garden foods in containers or large pots on a porch or patio that receives sun most of the day.
Rhonda and I have three 4×12 foot raised beds near our kitchen door in which we grow most of our vegetables from April through November. In addition we have planted an edible landscape for our fruit foods. A person who has as little as one eighth of an acre can create an edible landscape around their home and literally live in a garden.
Rhonda and I currently have 47 blueberry bushes, 5 thornless blackberries, six scuppernong (muscadine) grape vines, three fig trees, plus two apple trees, a peach and pear tree, along with a persimmon tree. All our garden foods are grown organically, and we plan to slowly increase the varieties in coming years.
For those who do not live in a house where there is available space, we are so blessed today to have health food stores that often carry fresh organic garden produce. Many of today’s supermarkets are also carrying increasing varieties of fresh organic produce.
Now that we have learned what foods qualify for a Healthy Kitchen, we need to share how a person can set up a healthy kitchen… stay tuned for that in next week’s Health Tip!
I will take you on a literary tour of Rhonda’s kitchens (she has two of them), and share how she has set them up to promotes health rather than disease and sickness.

Through the years, dozens of couples have given birth to what we call “Hallelujah Babies.”
A Hallelujah baby is one whose parents were both on The Hallelujah Diet at time of conception and the mother remained on The Hallelujah Diet through pregnancy. The child is usually born at home, breast fed, and free of vaccinations.
…and this time it was TWIN Hallelujah Babies!
The twins were born to Angela and Michael Donaldson, PhD, Research Director of the Hallelujah Acres. In an email to me the day after his twin girls were born, Michael wrote:
“My wife just gave birth to our 11th and 12th children, twin girls. Grace and Gloria were born at home on December 8 at 39-1/2 weeks gestation. They weighed 8 lb 1 oz and 6 lb 7 oz, respectively. They are strong, healthy babies.”
The Donaldson twins are the latest development in Michael and Angela’s “Hallelujah” story, which began more than 14 years ago. Here’s how Michael describes it:
“We made the change to The Hallelujah Diet back in 1996, during Angela’s third pregnancy. The motivation was for Angela’s health during pregnancies. We wanted God to bless us with lots of children, but the pregnancy nausea was too hard on her. As we sought God for answers the answers came through nutrition.
“A midwife lent us her copy of Rev. Malkmus’ book God’s Way to Ultimate Health. The testimonies in the book were astounding and intriguing, and led us to adopt The Hallelujah Diet.
“The fourth pregnancy, while following The Hallelujah Diet, was the best yet for Angela. She felt energetic and delivery was uncomplicated. The baby thrived and to this day he has a very sweet disposition.
“Since then, during pregnancies, Angela has relied ever more on the fresh vegetable juices through the morning hours to make it through home schooling with energy. All of our children have been home schooled. Most days she drank at least 1-1/2 quarts of fresh juice. (Her favorite was a mix of Romaine lettuce, spinach, celery, apple, orange, and a touch of lemon.)
“All of our births after adopting the Hallelujah Diet have been at home and uncomplicated. This time, when we found we were expecting twins, we initially thought we were going to have to have them in the hospital, but were able to find a midwife who had experience delivering twins at home.
“The births went quite well and uncomplicated. The labor was fairly short – about four hour’s total. Angela had around 12 contractions total. Both babies were delivered normally, head first and with no complications. Except for the bleeding after the placentas were delivered, it was one of her very easiest births.
“Angela’s health has been excellent through all of her pregnancies after changing to The Hallelujah Diet. After the diet change she has never had trouble with high blood pressure, nausea, water retention or swelling of her legs, or preeclampsia. We have not had a miscarriage either.
“She did not have insomnia and was easily able to go back to sleep each time. With the twins she did experience some uncomfortableness toward the end of the pregnancy due to the babies’ kicking, but her health was strong throughout the whole term.
“Her diet throughout the pregnancy, in addition to nearly two quarts of mainly vegetable juice each day, included such cooked foods as beans, whole grains and vegetables. Extra greens were used to help boost iron levels. She also ate two tablespoons of BarleyMax each day along with the following supplements: Pharmax fish oil, vitamin B12, iodine, probiotics, vitamin D, and a high quality Synergy multivitamin.
“Can twins be carried full term and delivered normally, even at home? The answer is, ‘by the grace of God, yes!’ A lot of the answer is the same as it is for all other health issues – nutrition and prayer for God’s guidance and empowering grace.
“The answer is not a lot of high tech screenings and interventions, but rather simple, good, fresh raw plant foods – foods that restore your youth like and eagle so that you can soar on and on (Psalm 103:5).
“The Lord gave us the names for the twins after an ultrasound revealed two girls in Angela’s womb and God brought Psalm 34 to Angela’s attention:
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give GRACE and GLORY: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
(Editor’s Note: The pictures of Grace and Gloria were taken within less than 24 hours of their birth. Notice the freedom of blemishes and healthy skin tone. After their mother had nourished her body according to God’s Genesis 1:29 diet for 9 months, the twins’ birth took place the way God designed, at home, without any drugs. Hallelujah!)
New Hope For The Future

“Dear Pastor Malkmus, after reading two of your books, God’s Way to Ultimate Health and The Hallelujah Diet, I want to say that I admire and salute you. Reading your books proved to me that there are people like you still out there, people who stand faithfully and are working hard to spread the old good news of God’s way of healing and God’s initial designed diet for us as found in Genesis 1:29.
I was thrilled, and praise the Lord for the light shared by you. Now, for sure, I want to be added to your mailing list to receive your paper publication. May God be with you, your family and your ministry of healing! Continue to be that bright and shining light in a very dark world.”

“For four months I did the Hallelujah Diet 100% and felt absolutely great. Then during a trip to Florida I fell off the wagon, so to speak, started eating all the wrong things and have been feeling the effects for two months now. My nails that had grown so strong and hard while on the diet are now soft and splitting, my hair which had become so lovely on the diet is starting to fall out, and I have gained back 7 of the 10 pounds I had lost while on the diet.
I didn’t like these side-effects, and so two days ago, tired of feeling so bad and tired, decided enough was enough. I started back on the Hallelujah Diet – drinking the green smoothies, eating salads, and getting some exercise. Hallelujah, I have already begun losing weight and feeling so much better. I will never fall off the Hallelujah Diet wagon again. Thank you Rev. Malkmus and Hallelujah Acres for what you do!”

“My wife and I have just recently adopted the Hallelujah Acres Diet and Lifestyle. Prior to adopting the diet, I thought I had been taking pretty good care of my body, but have recently learned that just wasn’t so. Before the diet change, my typical day would include about 10 cups of coffee, six cans of soft drinks, and eating junk foods throughout the day. I now know that these items are not good for me and that God would prefer me make better choices and take better care of the body He gave me so that I can avoid health problems in the future and live longer so that I can better serve Him.
My dad died recently from cancer. After learning what I have concerning the Hallelujah Diet, I believe my father could have avoided his cancer if he had known about and followed the Hallelujah Diet. In fact, I am convinced that it wasn’t the cancer that killed my dad, but rather the medical treatments he received. We have also been looking for a long time for an answer to help my wife with her COPD and asthma and believe that this diet and lifestyle is what we have been looking for.
After a week’s stay at the Hallelujah Acres Lifestyle Center in Lake Lure, North Carolina and just a few weeks on the Hallelujah Diet, my wife has already seen improvements in her health. This is after she had put her faith in medical doctors for many years, seen no improvements in her health, and recently been told there was nothing more they could do to help her but a lung transplant. After learning about the Hallelujah Diet and Lifestyle, we now have hope for her future.”
