“Well” Wishes For The New Year
Dec 29th
Thank you for all those wonderful Christmas and New Year greetings, and especially for the attached testimonies of how The Hallelujah Diet has blessed so many. As we start the New Year 2012, please keep sending me those wonderful testimonies. Your letters make my day!
“To our dear friends George and Rhonda: What a blessing you have been to us these past years! The fellowship in the Lord has been so sweet and we have really enjoyed attending church services with you at Faith Baptist Church in Shelby.
We want to especially thank you for The Hallelujah Diet, because God has used it to heal both Bob’s melanoma cancer and Ruth’s heart disease, without doctors and their chemotherapy or a heart transplant (which the doctors said was Ruth’s only hope).
We want to also thank you George and Rhonda for all your hard work and the sacrifices you have made over the years so that we, along with so many others around the world, could have a healthy lifestyle to follow, one that is free from disease.
We want to wish you both a blessed Christmas and a healthy, happy New Year. We pray that God will continue to bless you and use you for many more years.”
Health Ministers Bob and Ruth D., South Carolina
“Dear George and Rhonda, Merry Christmas to you and your Hallelujah Acres family. You have a special place in our hearts and home. Thank you for giving us the gift of health.
As we continue to grow older we are constantly thankful for the influence you have had and continue to have in our daily lives both physically and spiritually.”
Bob & Milly G., Hudson Falls, New York
“Dear Reverend and Mrs. Malkmus, During this season of great blessing we remember the greatest of these blessings, our Lord Jesus Christ. In a special way we thank Jesus for both of you; for your example of faithful service, passionate leadership, and humility.
We pray that God will continue to bless both of you and all the work you do to help others live a healthy physical and spiritual life. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.”
Dr. Stephan and Tiff E., Boston, Massachusetts
“Wishing all at Hallelujah Acres a very Merry Christmas! What an honor to be associated with Hallelujah Acres and to have had the privilege of being trained as a Hallelujah Acres Health Minister. To God be all the glory! The staff at Hallelujah Acres is fabulous. Thank you all! Sending love from Colorado!”
Health Minister Carol G., Colorado
“Dear Rhonda, I am writing to wish both you and George a very Merry Christmas and to thank you for the excellent Women’s Retreat at Hallelujah Acres this past October that both I and three others attended. Thank you! We will keep coming to these annual Women’s Retreats as long as you keep ‘throwing the party.’

The World’s Diet – Dangerously High In Refined Sugar
Nov 15th
Over the last several weeks, we have been learning about the shortcomings and dangers of the world’s diet.
In this Health Tip we are going to examine a substance that makes up a high percentage of the world’s diet — and discover why it is so dangerous to your health.
Refined Sugar Is A Dead, Fiberless Poison
Refined sugar is not a food substance at all. It is a dangerous poison that is consumed by almost every man, woman, and child, in large quantities, on a daily basis.
It is a dead (contains no enzymatic activity), fiberless, and good-for-nothing killer that creates monumental problems within the body.
Refined sugar is something God never intended our physical bodies to consume.
The only sugar God designed our physical bodies to ever have to deal with are the natural sugars found in the living (enzymatically alive), raw fruits and vegetables God created for us in the Garden!
Only 100 years ago, the average annual intake of refined sugar was approximately 5 pounds per person per year. Today, the average annual intake of refined sugar is around 172 pounds per person per year.
This means that if a person is consuming the Standard American Diet (SAD), that person is placing into their God-made physical bodies approximately 50 teaspoons of refined sugar, each and every day of their life.
If a person lives to the age of 80, they will have during their lifetime placed into their body some 13,760 pounds of refined sugar.
My friends that means that the average person on the “world’s diet” consumes nearly 7 tons of refined sugar in their lifetime.
That amount, 13,760 pounds, equals 2,752 five-pound bags of refined sugar.
Can you visualize what 2,752 five pound bags of refined sugar looks like when in the grocery store there are usually no more than ten 5-pound bags on the shelf?
Refined Sugar Is A Dead Food
All refined sugars originated as a natural, unrefined sugar in a living plant. As such, natural sugars contain a complete complement of enzymes, nutrients and fiber, just as God intended.
By the time natural sugar reaches its refined sugar stage, all nutrients have been removed, all enzymes destroyed, and all fiber removed.
As such, refined sugar is a very dead and toxic substance.
Let’s look for a moment at the process of taking sugar cane or sugar beet in its nutrient rich, fiber rich, enzymatically alive state as found in the plant, into a refined, fiberless, lifeless, nutrient-devoid product.
The following information was taken from a newsletter written by Charlotte Gerson of the world-famous Gerson Clinic:
“Sugar is a basic element in starchy food; however, processed sugar is a completely different matter. The sugar we purchase in the supermarket for personal consumption is processed sugar. This kind of sugar is heated up in chalk-milk, so that calcium and protein are extracted. After the process, it becomes alkaloid, destroying all vitamin content. In the second phase the sugar is mixed with acid chalk, carbonic gas, sulfur dioxide and finally with natrium bicarbonate. The mixture is cooked and cooled off several times and thereafter crystallized and centrifuged. The dead mass is then treated with strontium hydroxide. Subsequently it arrives at the refinery where it is passed over chalk carbon acid to clean it. Dark coloring is removed by adding sulfuric acid and then it is filtered with bone charcoal. Finally, it is colored with Indathrenblue or the highly toxic Ultramarine. This product’s chemical composition is C12H22O11, which you can buy in shops as ‘pure cane’ sugar.”
Refined Sugar Is Fragmented
Through heating and mechanical and chemical processing, all vitamins, proteins, fats, enzymes and fiber – indeed, every single nutrient is removed until nothing but pure white sugar, pure ‘naked calories,’ pure refined carbohydrate remains.
Sixty-four food elements are destroyed in the processing. Fragmented foods like these set up nutritional imbalances that precipitate health problems galore.
Refined Sugar Is Highly Acidic
Like animal source foods and refined grains, refined sugar is also extremely ‘acid forming.’
In fact, refined sugar is possibly the most acidic substance one can consume. Soft drinks, which usually contain at least 10 teaspoons of refined sugar, have a pH between 2.8 and 3.5, making it the greatest source of acid we can place into our bodies.
In an effort to neutralize all of this acid, the body takes vital alkaline minerals, calcium being the most plentiful, from the body’s bone structure in an effort to neutralize the acidity. The acidity found in all animal source foods and refined grains cause the body to lose calcium as well.
This highly refined acidic sugar intake, along with the consumption of acidic animal and acidic grain source foods, causes the body to remove so much calcium from the bones and teeth that the bones become osteoporotic (porous) and teeth decay.
Refined Sugar Creates Blood Sugar Disorders
One pound of apples contains 263 calories, whereas one pound of candy contains 1800 calories.
Refined sugar is concentrated far beyond what the God-created human body was designed to process at one time, while the body processes the much smaller amount of natural sugar found in apples just fine.
If a body is going to survive, it must find a way to somehow cope with the incredibly high amounts of sugar found in refined sugar. The body learns how to cope with it, but in so doing, often creates two new physical problems – diabetes and hypoglycemia.
Diabetes
The primary cause of diabetes is the fat contained in animal products which coats the cells and hinders the insulin from entering the cell.
But when a diabetic consumes refined sugar, the pancreas has difficulty producing adequate insulin when the blood sugar rises. Concentrated amounts of sugar cause a rapid rise in blood sugar.
Chronic intake of refined sugar eventually exhausts the pancreas as it tries to compensate. Thus the diabetic is condemned to having to take ever-increasing amounts of insulin to compensate.
Diabetes is the #3 killer disease in America, preceded only by cardiovascular related problems and cancer.
Hypoglycemia
Hypoglycemia is the flip side of diabetes. Hypoglycemia occurs when the body still has a fairly strong pancreas. The body overreacts to concentrated sugar intake and releases too much insulin from the pancreas. Blood sugar levels then plummet far below the normal stable level.
The suffering hypoglycemic often experiences fatigue, headaches; mental depression, and irritability.
Depression is often dealt with by the intake of more refined sugar, and so the hypoglycemic is caught in an endless cycle that causes the pancreas to wear out from constant over stimulation.
This often results in diabetes, because now the sufferer cannot produce sufficient insulin for normal metabolic activities.
Refined Sugar Promotes Emotional Instability
After a “sugarholic” has consumed a box of candy — or bag of cookies, or any large amount of refined sugar — they know how self-abused and depressed they feel.
Indeed, studies reveal a strong link between juvenile and adult criminal offenses and sugar addiction.
Similar research reveals a link between mental illness and sugar abuse. Hypoglycemic reactions, for the very sensitive consumer, promote extreme irrationality and emotional instability, which can lead to aggressiveness.
Studies reveal that sugar may be as involved in mental illness, divorce, and crime as alcohol has been found to be.
Refined sugar is one of the major contributing factors to depression!
ADD and ADHD are running rampant among our children and even some adults!
Isn’t it a paradox that these emotional problems, caused by a very toxic and poisonous addictive drug called refined sugar, are then treated with another poison — like Ritalin or Prozac!
How sad!
If your child is having a behavioral problem, why not consider removing all refined sugar in their diet instead?
Refined Sugar Contributes To Heart Disease
Animal fat is not the only contributing factor in heart disease.
Those on a highly refined sugar diet show significantly higher levels of fat in their blood than those who eat no refined sugar.
This high fat content in the blood is directly related to the development of plaque build-up within the arteries, then to hardening of the arteries, and ultimately to heart attacks and strokes.
Refined Sugar Leads To Addiction And Weight Gain
Refined sugar is highly caloric in its pure form.
But then it is often made worse by combining it with something containing high fat, like shortening, along with some salt.
This produces a tempting goodie like candy, cookies, cake, pie, fudge, a donut, or cinnamon bun.
Often these high sugar foods are consumed with a high calorie sugar drink, like soda pop.
All of this sugar contributes to weight gain.
If a person consumes just one 12-ounce can of soda pop a day for one year, that 10 teaspoons of sugar found in each can of soda could add 12 pounds to their weight in just one year.
When these excess calories are not burned for energy, they are stored as fat, contributing to the obesity epidemic we are seeing today among children and adults alike. Obesity is an underlying factor in not only cardiovascular disease but most other chronic diseases.
Furthermore, because of the way it plays havoc with emotions, refined sugar is highly addicting – it works exactly like a drug. This means that once a sugarholic sufferer has given into this crystalline sweetness, they can’t stop consuming.
Refined sugar is every bit as addictive as nicotine and alcohol and withdrawal from it can be as difficult as withdrawing from cocaine!
We have found that when a person decides to adopt The Hallelujah Diet, they usually do not have a great deal of difficulty eliminating the animal products, white flour products, table salt, or even caffeine (which is another addictive drug).
Many find that the most difficult substance to eliminate is refined sugar.
Sugar has a powerful addictive influence upon many people.
Have you ever noticed that children, who are allowed to have candy, are always asking for more?
They are never satisfied no matter how much you give them! This is because their little bodies have become addicted to sugar and their bodies are screaming for a fix.
NOTE – For those parents who would like to have a better understanding of how refined sugar is affecting their child’s behavior, I would like to recommend a book written by Barbara Reed Stitt titled: “Food and Behavior.”
Refined Sugar Compromises The Immune System
Let’s remember that the immune system is what God built into your body to protect you from the germs, viruses, and bacteria of this world.
The immune system is our first line of defense!
But refined sugar is an immune system suppressant — it knocks out this first line of defense.
That is why those who consume refined sugar find themselves susceptible to colds, the flu, and all sorts of other physical breakdowns, while those who consume The Hallelujah Diet, which contains no refined sugar, rarely if ever experiences a cold, the flu, or other physical breakdowns.
This editor hasn’t experienced a cold or the flu since eliminating refined sugar and adopting a primarily raw, plant-based diet over 35 years ago!
Don’t forget, God tells us we are going to reap what we sow…
“Be not deceived: God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Sugar Contributes To Myriad Physical Problems
Refined sugar is associated with malnutrition and decreased resistance to disease.
Refined sugar impacts quality of life — it increases the severity of PMS; decreases cognitive or intellectual function, especially in children; contributes to heart disease and cancer; and so much more.
Following is just a partial list of other health problems related to the intake of refined sugar:
- Acne
- Addiction to drugs and caffeine
- Alcoholism
- Allergies
- Anxiety
- Behavioral problems
- Binge eating
- Bloating
- Bone loss
- Candida
- Depression
- Difficulty concentrating
- Eczema
- Edema
- Emotional problems
- Fatigue
- Food cravings
- Hormonal problems
- Hyperactivity
- Insomnia
- Menstrual difficulties
- Mental illness
- Mood swings
- Premature aging
- Psoriasis
- … and the list goes on and on.
Conclusion
Refined sugar and products made with it become the cause or contributing cause of many of the physical problems being experienced today.
Refined sugar products are all dead, fiberless, and following animal source foods, are the second most popular of the deadly, killer foods of our day.
No wonder God says in Hosea 4:6:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
Is it not a sad commentary, that instead of dealing with our physical problems by eliminating their causes, we deal with symptoms?
We take a poisonous medication instead. It will never fix the problem — but rather exacerbate it!
Almost every physical problem we experience in a lifetime, other than accidents, is because we have failed to nourish our physical bodies the way God intended in Genesis 1:29!
“AND GOD SAID, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed (vegetable), which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat (food).”
Genesis 1:29
If you are consuming the “world’s diet”…
And suffering the consequences with all those physical problems you keep asking God and the doctors to fix…
Isn’t it about time you considered changing your diet from the “world’s diet” to “GOD’s diet…
So that you can experience the abundant health God designed for you?
Next week, the good Lord willing and if the creeks don’t rise too high, we will explore another item that is consumed in large quantities by the average person on the world’s diet that is also devoid of fiber…
Trust you will join us!
The Message Is Taking Hold!
Oct 6th
The response to the past two Health Tips titled “How Churches Promote Ill Health” and “How Prayer Can Hinder the Health of God’s People” have been so encouraging! People are beginning to understand that the way Christians and churches have been dealing with physical problems in the past needs to be reevaluated as these letters reveal:
“Dear Rev. Malkmus, Thank you for last week’s Health Tip titled ‘How Prayer Can Hinder the Health of God’s People.’ Several years ago when I got sick, I did not like what the doctor was telling me I needed to do to get well.
So after praying for God to heal me, I asked God to show me what I needed to do to get well.
In answer to that prayer He sent a friend who encouraged me to adopt The Hallelujah Diet. I changed my diet and that change saved my life!
A funny side-note: In my prayer to God I told Him that I would ‘eat dirt’ if it would help me get well. Interestingly, He didn’t have me eat dirt, but he did send someone who encouraged me to eat the living plants that grew in the dirt. Thank you for your ministry. What you teach not only brought healing to my body but is also helping so many others.”
Bonnie
“Rev. Malkmus, I love your recent articles titled ‘How Churches Promote Ill Health’ and How Prayer Can Hinder the Healing of God’s People’. I so agree with you. A year ago I requested our pastor bring a message to the church promoting good health through diet change. I am still waiting for that message.
Pastors fail to realize the influence they have on their members when they make light of the garbage they and the church people are eating and fail to direct the people to biblical nutrition that promotes good health. It is sad but only so true that pastors are promoting ill health in the church. I love your Health Tip articles and look forward to reading all the information you share each week from God’s Word.”
Debora J.
“Dear Brother George, Harry and I were discussing our frustrations in trying to bring The Hallelujah Diet to people in our church and seeing them choose ill health rather than change what they eat. This brought the Scripture in I John to mind where the Bible says ‘there is a sin unto death’.
How can we pray for the healing of God’s people when they are knowingly destroying their bodies by what they are eating?
We watch people constantly going forward in the church requesting prayer for healing and then in response to those prayers refuse to follow The Hallelujah Diet that will bring them the healing they are asking God for. So often when encouraged to make the diet change they respond that doing so is ‘too hard.’ So Harry responds when they say that with these words: ‘Isn’t going to a doctor and dying harder?’
We then watch these same people go through such terrible trauma at the hands of the doctors because they refuse to change their diet. In comparison to the suffering they go through doing what the doctor has them do, how can they continue to say making a diet change is ‘too hard.’ Just wanted to share my thoughts!
Blessings to you, Rhonda, and everyone at Hallelujah Acres!”
Health Ministers Cindy and Harry W.
“I hate the prayer sheets they pass around our church every Wednesday night enumerating all the physical problems being experienced by the people in our church. We spend much more time talking about the different diseases, the medical treatments they are receiving, and praying for people’s healing than we do talking about the Lord and praying for the lost.”
Sheilah
“Thank you Rev. George. What you say is so true but I wish more people would hear what you are saying. We had dinner at church last Sunday and they served all that fattening food. We need to all start taking responsibility for our actions including me. I need to get back on The Hallelujah Diet on which in just one month I lost weight and felt so good, but then I went back to the SAD diet and got sick again. Please pray for me to have accountability for my actions.”
Michelle O.
“Sir, it was very pleasing to read those positive comments in your Health Tip regarding how diet affects our health. I have told people that if I come upon you and find you with a smashed and bloody thumb, I will stop and help to relieve your pain – but if I witness you taking up your hammer and hitting your thumb again, you have disrespected my time and heartfelt concern.
God calls us to repent of our former conduct and that most certainly encompasses our diet. In Israel, the doctors have gone on strike at least four times in my lifetime, and every single time they have gone on strike the death rate drops upwards of 50%. This has happened in every city with the exception of Netanya. This is the only Israeli city where the doctors have a ‘no-strike clause in their contracts – and that is the only city where death rates stay high during a doctor strike.
The funeral industry in Israel has such a low margin of profit that during a doctor’s strike, some go out of business. A search of the root word of ‘pharmaceutical’, shows it comes from the Greek word ‘pharmakeia’, meaning ‘poisoner’. The word is used three times in scripture and clearly shows in Revelation 18:23 that God doesn’t just take a dim view of us using pharmaceuticals (drugs), but rather pours out His wrath on those who use them.
If that isn’t incentive enough for a person to change their diet and stop using those pharmaceuticals, I don’t know what is.”
Don S., Israel
“Dear Rev. Malkmus, I am so grateful that your articles are making this information available to the churches. In many quarters, churches are not held in very high esteem because the church shows no respect for the foods God told us we should eat in Genesis 1:29, and how this lack of respect is contributing to ill health.
Yes, churches are contributing to people’s ill health! My parents and my mother’s two sisters were all church attending, loyal Christians, and the churches they attended unfortunately contributed to their ill health. They prayed for restoration of their health, but no one ever told them of the dangers of refined sugar, cow milk, meat and white flour, and that these were the cause of their ill health. In fact the church was promoting these disease causing substances right in the churches they attended.
Mum died of bowel cancer and dad of heart disease at age 54 while on the operating table for a triple heart by-pass. My oldest brother had to have a stent installed because of a clogged artery. As for me, I lost all respect for the church when I learned about God’s Genesis 1:29 diet, adopted that diet, and got well after prayers had failed to bring healing to my body.
I’m sorry, but I can no longer respect the church that as you say ‘nurtures the soul and spirit while having total disrespect for the body’ by failing to warn people of the dangers of eating animal products, refined sugar and white flour products. Thank you once again for your inspiring messages. I have been following The Hallelujah Diet for over 10 years now and it has brought me superior health.”
Toni K., Australia
“Hi George, I know you’ve felt it – ‘FRUSTRATION!’ Frustration – because people just couldn’t seem to hear your message. Sometimes I feel that too. Here we are in a world of sick people who need good nutrition. We KNOW we have the important information they need so desperately to help them get well and stay well, if they would only LISTEN (hear) what we have to say and TAKE ACTION. I too am on a mission to bring this knowledge to the people and I am so glad we are aligned on this.”
Dr. Jana B., Hawaii
How Churches Promote Ill Health
Sep 20th
This may sound like a crazy title for a message, but I trust you will seriously consider its content and take action on what you are about to read.
During almost 20 years in the pastoral ministry, I founded two and pastored several other Baptist churches. In addition to the churches I pastored, I have been a member of and faithfully attended several other churches. When added up, I have pastored or attended churches for over 54 years since becoming a Christian in 1957.
In addition, I have also had opportunity during the past 20 years to share God’s health message in hundreds of churches across America and in a number of foreign lands. These churches were of more than a dozen different denominations.
As a result of being in so many different churches over such a long period of time, I have a pretty good handle on what is and what is not being taught concerning the physical body, and what is offered to the children and adults in those churches to eat and drink.
In short, when I say that “Churches Promote Ill Health” I know what I am talking about.
In fact, for most of the years that I pastored, I must confess, I personally participated in, encouraged, and was responsible for “promoting ill health” in the various churches I pastored.
I did it in ignorance, but that doesn’t alter the fact that I was responsible.
You likely attend a church that “promotes ill health” as well.
“How can this be?”you may ask.
I’ll explain, but first here’s a little biblical foundation:
We Are Triune Beings
Just as the God Head is comprised of three persons (the Trinity), “God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit” (See I John 5:1-20), we humans are triune beings as well, comprised of: “spirit, soul, and body”:
“I pray God your whole spirit and soul and BODY, be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Thessalonians 5:23) Notice this scripture says that we should pray that all three parts, “spirit, soul, and BODY, be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Now stick with me! Does not the Bible also admonish preachers that they preach the whole counsel of God?
Here is what the apostle Paul had to say about the whole counsel of God in Acts 20:27-28:
“For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”
When Was The Last Time…
Now, in most churches the messages coming from the pulpit center on the “soul and spirit” of man and how to protect the soul and spirit from the world’s influence! This type of preaching is right and proper.
But when was the last time you heard a preacher preach on the “BODY,” the physical BODY that houses the “soul and spirit?”
When was the last time you heard a preacher share how to maintain it in wellness and protect it from the influences of the world?
Or rather did the preacher make a big joke about that double dip chocolate concoction they ate last week?
I remember a very obese evangelist whom I asked to hold a series of meetings in a church I pastored a number of years ago. During his message said that he wanted to die drowning in a great big bowl of chicken gravy.
He said it in jest, but how many times do we hear preachers make jest of some unhealthy food they ate the past week?
And when was the last time you heard in a Sunday school class how to maintain that physical body so that it would be a fit vessel to house the “soul and spirit?”
Is not a fit and healthy physical body a necessity for the body to be a fit vessel for the Master’s use?
If this earthly house (our body) is not kept healthy and strong, how can we ever fulfill the earthly ministry God has called each of us to?
And yet from the pulpit and the Sunday School classroom we hear nary a word about this. There is absolute silence on the subject of how to maintain a physical body that is fit for the Master’s use in our churches.
Why Is There No Teaching or Preaching About This?
Why is there no teaching or preaching in the church on how to maintain our physical bodies in a state of wellness so that we can have a healthy body with which to serve the Lord?
Why are some 90% of the prayer requests in our churches for the healing of those in our churches who are sick?
Do you not see a relationship between how we nourish these physical bodies and the physical problems the people in our churches experience and pray to be healed from?
Has Satan blinded our eyes to this glaring and obvious relationship? Should not wellness be of the highest priority in our church and should not wellness be the testimony of our church people?
Does not the Bible admonish us in Romans 12:1 to take proper care of these physical bodies? It says that we should “present [our] BODIES a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is [our] reasonable service.”
And with regard to these physical bodies, does not the Bible tell us in Romans 12:2 how “not” to take care of these physical BODIES: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
There are further teachings on how to take care of our bodies in I Corinthians 6:19-20: “What? Know ye not that YOUR BODY is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in YOUR BODY, and in your spirit, which are Gods.”
Yet In The Church…
Sadly, in the church, in spite of all the biblical warnings we have just read, we have done just the opposite of what God admonishes us to do in Romans 12:1-2.
We eat the world’s diet, we go to the world’s doctors, we take the world’s drugs, and we suffer the same consequences of ill health as the world’s people who go this same worldly route.
The world’s people are sick, tired, and dying prematurely and needlessly — and so are God’s people.
What should we do about it? Here is what God says: “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you.”
We in the church have bought into the world’s system. Indeed, we have brought the world’s system into our churches and homes, and we are paying a horrible price.
It is high time that we begin preaching from our pulpits and teaching in our Sunday schools, how to properly nourish and maintain these physical bodies we have on loan from God.
How Churches Promote Ill Health
While a pastor in one of my churches, we had a bus ministry comprised of five large school buses plus a van.
What was constantly being given these bus kids to encourage them to get on and ride to church? CANDY!
And in junior church we gave them cupcakes and soda pop, all loaded with sugar.
In our church socials, the tables were heaped with sugar desserts, and animal flesh was the predominate offering – barbecued pork, southern fried chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, and you name it.
And for dessert there were the high sugar content donuts, cakes, cookies, pies, etc.
And for a beverage is it not sugar-laden sodas and coffee and tea?
Are you aware that these items — that are being offered and served in our churches to this very day — contribute to ill health?
Sugar destroys the immune system and makes us susceptible to colds, viruses, and bacteria and yes… cancer! Sugar also causes our children to misbehave and contributes to depression.
The fat in the animal products clog up the arteries and cause high blood pressure, need for stents and bypasses along with heart attacks, strokes, and diabetes. These animal products also cause cancer, arthritis, asthma, acid stomach, heartburn, gout, liver problems and more.
What Should Churches Do?
Rather than promoting ill health by giving the children unhealthy items to eat and drink, we should provide the children in our churches with health promoting foods like apples, oranges, date-nut balls, and other healthy snacks.
For beverages let’s give them ice water, rather than sugar-laden soda pop and Kool-Aid.
And for our socials, let’s provide our church people with such items as salads of all kinds – vegetable salads, bean salads, corn salads, whole grain pasta salads, etc., along with baked white and sweet potatoes, and a variety of cooked and raw vegetables and fresh fruits.
There are so many delicious dishes that tantalize the taste buds and fill the stomach that are healthy and health promoting. Why do we have to serve our church people at the various church functions unhealthy fare that promotes ill health?
Does this make any sense?
And what is the result of providing all this sickness-promoting food and drink? On prayer meeting night, 90% of the prayer requests are for physical problems caused by placing these unhealthy sugar and animal flesh items into our body.
It’s shocking to realize that the church is contributing to the sickness that necessitates these prayer requests.
Let’s Stop Promoting Sickness In Our Churches
In the church where Rhonda and I currently attend, at our church socials, we have a special table designated “Hallelujah Acres Food”, where healthy foods are available. And it is exciting to see that people whose diet has always consisted of the unhealthy foods come and try our healthy foods, and find out how tasty these healthy foods can be.
Since we started attending our current church, dozens of the people have adopted The Hallelujah Diet and reporting all kinds of improvements in their health – weight losses of over 50 pounds, diabetes gone, high blood pressure now normal, energy increased, and the list goes on.
May every pastor set the example by adopting a health promoting diet and then start promoting health in their churches.
May every Sunday school teacher adopt this 100% plant-based diet and start promoting health in their individual classes.
My dear friends, let’s each of us be challenged to STOP promoting sickness in our own body and the churches we pastor, teach in, or attend, so that we can have a church full of healthy people, people who have bodies fit for the Master’s use!
EDITORS NOTE: If you are concerned about the promotion of ill health in your church, may I encourage you to forward this article to all the pastors, Sunday School teachers and others in your church who need to hear this message. Also, send it to friends and loved ones who attend other churches as well. Let’s each do our part to STOP promoting ill health in the church of Jesus Christ.
You Name It, They’re Free Of It!

I trust you enjoy the testimonies shared below, and if you have a friend or loved one suffering with similar problems as those below found healing through a simple diet and lifestyle change, you might like to forward these testimonies on to them.
Dear Rev. Malkmus, I have been a committed adherent of The Hallelujah Diet ever since we met in November 2009 when I attended Health Ministers training there in Shelby, North Carolina.
In the three years I have been on The Hallelujah Diet, I have found it to be second only to God’s grace and the power of His word, and credit the diet for my total deliverance from cancer, diagnosed in April 2008.
I wanted to take this opportunity to say ‘thank-you’ for your ministry and all your efforts to reach people with the healing wisdom found only in God’s plan for our diet and lifestyle. May God bless you and your ministry.

At the time I began the Hallelujah Acres ’60 Day Challenge’ on the internet, and adopted The Hallelujah Diet, I was suffering with many different physical problems. I had just suffered a heart attack and had a stent inserted to open the blockage and was told I had several other partial blockages. I also suffered with high blood pressure, asthma and COPD, allergies, Type 2 diabetes, ADHD, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, insomnia and gout.
Over the past 19 years I have had 13 separate joint surgeries for torn or worn out cartilage. I have been a mess for a long time and was on the fast track to the grave, living on sodas, fast greasy foods, burgers and fries.
But Hallelujah! After only a couple of weeks on The Hallelujah Diet both my wife and I were feeling very noticeably better, experiencing less pain and pounds were melting off rapidly. Because my life was on the line I have been very diligent to observe the diet almost perfectly.
Last Christmas I was a 56-year-old ‘growing boy’, weighing 268 pounds with a 50-inch waistline, sick all the time and felt tired and awful with no energy. Suffering one malady after another had become my life, but now I have found a way to get my life back. Since adopting The Hallelujah Diet I have regained my breath, retired my C-Pap machine and nebulizer, got off my diabetes meds, my gout is GONE, got off my high blood pressure meds and gained energy like I haven’t had since my 20’s. I need to see my eye doctor because I believe I can actually see more clearly without my glasses then I do with them. I now weigh 210 pounds, and my recently purchased 38 inch waist pants are already too loose.
Thanks to all of you at Hallelujah Acres, my wife for her support and my sister Donna R. in Spring Texas, a long time follower of The Hallelujah Diet for sharing the Hallelujah Acres program with us. Most of all, ‘Thank you Lord’ for making me an Energizer Bunny once again! I just keep going and going – minus 58 pounds and minus approximately 12 inches in the waistline.
We are now telling everyone about Hallelujah Acres that asks what we are doing with questions like: ‘What have you been doing, you are looking younger and have lost so much weight?’ I feel great, and have my goal of weighing 185 once again in sight and know it will happen.
Again, thank you for your help in regaining our health. We plan to be lifers with Hallelujah Acres and can’t wait to meet you all.

Dear Malkmus Family, I have been blessed so much with your ministry and I want God to use me the same way He is using you folks in helping eradicate physical problems from the church family.
I have put together a small group of brothers and sisters and we get together every week to share about health and some of them are on the ’60-Day Challenge to Reclaim You Health’ internet program offered by Hallelujah Acres.
I am 65 years old and been doing The Hallelujah Diet for 6 years and believe me I feel very happy and am extremely healthy and strong.
In my group many are seeing physical problems simply disappearing after they make the diet and lifestyle change and that makes me very happy. God is moving powerfully in his body, the church. All glory to Him! And I thank God for His servants George and Rhonda for their obedience to Him. I bless you both with peace and health. Amen!

Living In An Age of Contradiction
Apr 2nd
The following is an excerpt from 101 Great Ways to Improve Your Health by David Riklan and Dr. Joseph Cilea:
We live in an age of contradiction. Never has such a wonderfully diverse wealth of information about health been so easily accessible. Never have we known more of the secrets of the human body. And yet, never have so many Americans been making so many bad decisions about their health.
Today, according to the National Center for Health Statistics, about two-thirds of U.S. adults are overweight or obese – 133.6 million people in all.
A new study completed by the National Cancer Institute indicates that 40.93% of men and women born today will be diagnosed with cancer at some time during their lifetime.
Someone dies of heart disease every 34 seconds.
One in six Americans is either pre-diabetic or diabetic.
Over ten million Americans are taking anti-depressants.
One in six Americans suffers from an anxiety disorder.
And incidence rates of conditions like childhood diabetes, sleep disorders, Alzheimer’s, anxiety and depression are spiraling upward with shocking speed.
Why are so many of us so unhealthy? . . . Health awareness is the first step in the path.
Hallelujah Acres’ mission is to empower you with information that will enable you to make informed and biblically sound choices.
If the mounting tide of disease is to be stopped, each individual must take responsibility for their health and make informed choices that will enable the innate self-healing God placed within each body to function as designed.
When this takes place, we can not only avoid the ravages of those diseases but most often reverse the disease state that is manifesting symptoms.
