The World’s Diet Is Dangerously Low In Fiber
Nov 8th
In recent Health Tips we have learned that in order to properly digest food, the food must contain fiber. The foods most consume today are lacking in fiber, and when we consume foods lacking in fiber, physical problems manifest.
Fiber — An Absolute Necessity For Proper Digestion
Garden source foods are the only foods on planet earth that contain FIBER!
This means that any food that comes from any source outside of the garden is a food devoid of FIBER.
Animal source foods are completely devoid of fiber. This, along with other factors, makes animal source foods a major cause of the digestive and colon problems so many people suffer with today.
For years there has been a number of writers promoting a “low carb, high protein” diet. This type of diet is high in animal flesh (which is totally devoid of fiber) and low in carbohydrates (which are high in fiber).
A major reason why these diets are so dangerous is because they are seriously lacking in fiber.
Refined Carbohydrates Contain No Fiber
Another “food” consumed by most people in very large quantities today is refined carbohydrates — which are also devoid of fiber.
Refined carbohydrates, because they are devoid of fiber, are more than just another cause of constipation. They are a burden on the liver and intestines and increase the risk of chronic disease.
God’s plan for the proper digestion of foods requires fiber, but both refined carbohydrates and animal source foods are devoid of fiber.
Once a person understands this fact, it helps them understand what foods they must consume to promote good health and what foods cause their health to decline.
It is interesting to note that low carb diets cite carbohydrates for today’s obesity epidemic.
Yet when we look at the history of mankind, we learn that for almost 6,000 years people have thrived on a high carbohydrate, low protein diet — and most were NOT overweight!
Here’s why: Until recently most people in the world nourished their bodies with UNREFINED carbohydrates – not with refined carbohydrates.
What has changed?
Why are 60% of Americans overweight and an ever increasing number of our youth diagnosed as “obese”?
The problem is NOT naturally occurring, unrefined carbohydrates (which contain loads of plant fiber), but rather REFINED carbohydrates — which contain virtually NO fiber.
For example, a grain of wheat is an unrefined carbohydrate, while “enriched” flour made from that grain of wheat (which has had its fiber removed) is a refined carbohydrate.
What’s the difference?
- Unrefined carbohydrates are vitally important in meeting the nutritional and fiber needs of our bodies.
- Refined carbohydrates are devastating to our body, causing myriad physical breakdowns.
Over 60% Of Americans Are Overweight
Today, what is one of the primary concerns people have regarding their physical bodies?
Is it not concern over being overweight?
And what products are constantly being advertised to combat this problem? Are they not weight loss products claiming to help a person lose that excess weight?
Overweight and obese people are vulnerable targets for health care fraud because a high percentage of the people in our country are desperate to lose weight.
So when “low carb, high protein” diets came on the scene telling Americans that they could eat all the protein and cholesterol they wanted and lose weight, many jumped on the bandwagon.
Sadly, these weight loss plans trashed an entire food group. But of even greater importance, they trashed the diet God told man he should consume in Genesis 1:29, the blueprint for The Hallelujah Diet.
That fact alone should have triggered a huge red flag because the Genesis 1:29 diet is high in carbohydrates and low in protein.
Ask yourself… does God know best with regard to how man should nourish his body?
Or is it man’s job to know best?
Low Carbohydrate Diets And Science
Science reveals that a high fiber diet of complex, unrefined carbohydrates and low protein is the safest choice for long-term health.
By contrast, The World Health Organization, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and American Dietetic Association, all warn of the long-term risks of a low-carb, high protein diet.
Those who promote a low-carb diet claim that carbohydrates raise blood sugar levels and thus insulin levels. They then go on to claim that elevated insulin levels trigger the storage of fat. Thus they conclude that it is carbohydrates that make people fat.
What they fail to reveal is that it is the REFINED carbohydrates that are the culprit here and not the unrefined.
The results of many years of well documented research reveal the huge benefits of a plant-based diet of unrefined carbohydrates that is low saturated fat diet.
In addition, scientists have abundant evidence showing that the time proven, plant-based diets of large population groups also prevent disease while increasing life span.
Ever Since Adam And Eve
Ever since God gave Adam and Eve the original high carbohydrate/low protein, plant-based diet in Genesis 1:29, most of the world’s population has relied primarily on plant foods for the bulk of their diet.
Carbohydrates such as fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, grains, beans, and legumes have formed the foundation of the traditional diets for most regions of the world.
Sadly, over the past couple of decades, due to the strong influence of the United States on the world, many who once consumed these traditional diets have adopted our standard American diet (SAD) of highly refined carbohydrates and high protein. Doing so has resulted in a serious erosion of health around the world.
Today we see a dramatic increase in obesity and death rates due to heart disease and cancer in many countries of the world, just as it has and continues to produce in the United States.
Here’s the truth of the matter…
If the body does not receive sufficient carbohydrates, it will convert protein and/or fat into glucose (a carbohydrate), to meet its carbohydrate needs.
So why not get your carbs from the plant?! Especially when getting them from animal source foods comes with a lot of negative baggage.
Not All Carbohydrates Are Created Equal
A good example of a good carb and a bad carb would be a potato and a French fry. Here, food processors have turned a heart healthy unrefined carbohydrate (the unprocessed potato) into an artery clogging French fry.
Research scientists at Harvard University have discovered that individuals who eat a diet high in unrefined carbohydrates significantly decrease their risk of diabetes and heart disease – while individuals who eat a diet high in refined carbohydrates more than double their risk of heart disease.
How To Tell A Good Carb From A Bad One
If a carbohydrate comes packaged as nature produced it – it is a good carbohydrate. You can be assured it is safe and good for you! All plant source foods in their natural state are good carbohydrates.
If a carbohydrate is packaged by man, it is a bad carb. Bad carbohydrates include those foods that are refined, fried in fat, dipped in sugar, or have had refined sugar or other artificial ingredients added.
Sickness Is Not God’s Will For His People
The world’s diet is a dangerous diet because it is lacking in fiber and the nutrients the body needs to build and protect our health, while GOD’s diet is loaded with fiber and provides the nutrients the body needs to produce optimal health and protect it from disease.
Sickness is not “God’s will” for his people. (3 John 2)
By consuming the world’s diet we not only destroy our health, but spend huge amounts of money in an effort to restore the health that was destroyed by consuming the world’s diet.
There is a better way than the world’s way of nourishing our God created physical bodies.
That way is God’s way as clearly outlined in Genesis 1:29. AMEN!
Next week…
The good Lord willing and if the creeks don’t rise too high, we will explore another item that is consumed in large quantities by the average person on the world’s diet that is also devoid of fiber. Trust you will join us next week!

Nutritional Deficiencies In A Vegan Diet
Oct 15th
“Rev. Malkmus, I am interested in optimal health by following a vegan diet. However, I am concerned about studies that show an increased risk of hardening of the arteries and blood clots from this type of diet. I am also concerned about the lack of omega 3’s, B vitamins, zinc, and iron in a vegan diet. I would appreciate your response to these concerns. Thank you!”

Editor Responds
Dear Linad,
The Hallelujah Diet is much more than just a “vegan” diet. Rather it is a well-balanced, plant-based diet, providing the optimal raw to cooked ratio, (85% raw to 15% cooked) plant foods, along with fresh vegetable juices, and green smoothies to insure optimal nutrient intake.
We also assure that there is no lack of critical nutrients by recommending supplementation in the form of omega 3’s, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, and iodine. We have been fine tuning The Hallelujah Diet for 20 years while millions around the world have found The Hallelujah Diet not only restored their health but also prevented future health issues, while revealing no nutritional deficiencies.
Regarding some of the statements made in your letter, I would really appreciate your sharing with me the source of the research revealing a vegan diet increases the risk of hardening of the arteries and blood clots. Both of these problems are primarily caused by a diet high in animal source foods – both flesh and dairy.
Plaque is produced by the animal fat found in animal products being joined by the minerals found in cooked animal foods and ground water. For instance, high amounts of iron are found in beef. A person on a vegan diet, because they consume no animal source foods, does not have the fat necessary to cause hardening of the arteries. Quite simply, if a person does not consume animal source foods and does drink distilled water, they do not have the means to create plaque.
As for the risk of blood clots, one of the primary causes of blood clots is plaque deposits (which we discussed above), forming along the lining of the artery, and growing to cause narrowing of the vessel. If plaque ruptures, a blood clot can form at the site of the rupture and can completely or partially occlude the blood flow at that point. This is what causes a heart attacks, stroke, or peripheral artery disease. It would be difficult to find a pure vegan experiencing such a condition.
Regarding “lack of omega 3’s” – in most instances, neither a vegan diet nor animal source diet provide sufficient omega 3’s unless a person consumes a lot of fish, but that can be a dangerous source due to the high amounts of mercury found in fish. Hallelujah Acres recommends walnuts, ground flax seed or flax oil as a good source of omega 3’s. However, our research reveals that the very best source of omega 3 to be Pharmax fish oil. It contains high amounts of omega 3s as well as high DHA and EPA, both essential nutrients. We chose Pharmax fish oil because it is the cleanest oil we have found and completely free of mercury.
And finally regarding the “B vitamins, zinc, and iron”:
- B vitamins – there are eight B vitamins and most are available from a plant-based diet. They are B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin) B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B7 (biotin), B9 (folic acid), and B12. Hallelujah Acres recommends B12 in sublingual form that also contains B6 and folic acid (B9) to prevent deficiencies. Interestingly, consuming animal source foods does not guarantee sufficient intake of B12 as the Framingham Study revealed – 39% of those on an animal-based diet were deficient in B12.
- Zinc – Zinc is found in chickpeas, beans, almonds, and cashews are plant sources that provide the body with zinc.
- Iron – Iron can be found in apricots, sesame seeds, figs, kidney beans, and spinach along with other dark leafy vegetables, which are very iron-rich foods.
There are two types of iron – non-heme iron; the kind found in spinach and has an absorption rate of 10% to 20%. While heme iron, the kind found in meats, is highly absorbed. The highly absorbed heme form of iron found in meats can be a source of concern as it often results in iron levels that are too high. Because of too much iron, some people have to have blood lettings on a regular basis in order to reduce the percentage of iron in their blood.
Iron toxicity, also called hemochromatosis, can be caused by having too much iron in the bloodstream. So although iron is an essential nutrient, excess can cause significant harm to the inner lining of the blood vessels. Excessive iron is also associated with heart attacks. The abundance of dark green leafy vegetables on The Hallelujah Diet should provide most individuals adequate iron without being excessive.

Cancer – Dealing With It God’s Way
May 17th
Before we share “God’s Way of Dealing with Cancer”, we need to review some of the things we previously learned in this Health Tiip series. We learned:
- Cancer is out-of-control cell growth
- Cancer is caused by cells that grow uncontrollably and do not die
- What we eat and drink determines cell quality
- Where cancer had its beginning
- How modern medicine deals with cancer
- Most cancer fatalities are due to chemotherapy
- Our God-given bodies have an inherent ability to self-heal — even from cancer
If we want to undo cancer, we must first stop doing what caused it! And if it is improper diet and lifestyle that caused the immune system to so weaken that cancer could develop, does it not make logical sense that stopping the cause and rebuilding the immune system would be a better approach?
Refined Sugar Destroys the Immune System
Refined sugar is an immune system suppressant – it knocks out the immune systems protective abilities. Our immune system was given to us by God to protect us from germs, viruses, bacteria, and yes – cancer!
A weakened immune system is what allows cancer cells in their early development to go undetected and multiply.
Animal Protein Feeds Cancer
Dr. T. Colin Campbell, author of “The China Study,” found that animal flesh protein and even more so dairy protein (casein), feeds cancer and accelerates cancer growth.
If a person desires to overcome cancer, they must stop providing cancer cells with these powerful building materials.
Plant Based Diet Rebuilds Immune System
A predominantly raw, 100% plant-based diet, including an abundance of freshly extracted raw vegetable juices, provides the body with the quality building materials it desperately needs to rebuild a broken down immune system.
As the immune system rebuilds, the self-healing God programmed into Adam and Eve (which has been passed down from generation to generation in the genes eventually to each of us) kicks in.
As a rebuilt immune system starts to function as God designed, the body’s strengthened immune system seeks out the cancer cells (those cells multiplying out of control).
In most instances, the body simply destroys them without any help from chemotherapy, radiation, or even surgery.
The Hallelujah Diet To The Rescue!
The Hallelujah Diet provides the body with those building materials the body so desperately needs in order to rebuild a weakened and poorly functioning immune system. This editor has personally experienced this phenomenon!
In 1976, at the age of 42, following rectal bleeding, a tumor was discovered under my left rib cage, and I heard those chilling words – “It’s Cancer!” Just prior to my being told I had colon cancer, mom had died following a bout with colon cancer.
Mom had gone the medical route with the same type of cancer and at her death I was convinced mom had not died from the cancer but rather as a result of the immune system destroying modalities of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.
Because of mothers devastating experience, I went seeking an alternative.
In my search I turned to Evangelist Lester Roloff, (ridiculed as a “Health Nut” by many preachers). Brother Roloff encouraged me to eliminate all refined sugar and animal source foods from my diet and to adopt God’s Genesis 1:29 diet, a diet comprised of 100% plant foods along with an abundance of freshly extracted vegetable juices.
I made the diet change overnight and almost immediately began to get well. Not long after making the diet change the rectal bleeding suddenly stopped. Within a year, the baseball sized tumor was gone, and all without any medical interference or modalities.
That was over 35 years ago, and as I near that rapidly approaching age of 80, I find myself strong, healthy, and to the best of my knowledge, cancer-free. I have a muscular body capable of doing almost anything physically I could do as a teenager, with endless energy, a sound mind, a zest for life, and a passion to tell anyone who will listen: “You Don’t Have to be Sick!”
Because God allowed me the privilege of experiencing cancer in 1976 and led me to Lester Roloff who revealed to me God’s way of dealing with cancer, a new ministry called Hallelujah Acres was birthed in 1992.
As a result, millions around the world today are following “God’s Way” to health, while tens of thousands have written to tell me that following “God’s way” they have recovered from over 170 different physical problems, including even terminal, metastasized, stage 4 cancers.
Yes my friend, there is a better way than the “World’s Way” of dealing with cancer, as well as most other physical problems — it’s God’s Way!
Here is what the Bible has to say about the “World’s Way:”
“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” (I Corinthians 3:19)
“And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse.” (Mark 5:25-26)
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1)
“And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6)
Next week, the good Lord willing, we will share how The Hallelujah Diet goes about rebuilding the immune system so that the body can heal itself of cancer. We will deal with the roll juices play, why some cooked food is included, the importance of vitamin D and 0mega-3 fatty acids, the role stress and constipation play, the importance of fresh air and pure water, and so much more. I trust you will join us.
And be sure to visit the testimonies section of this Health Tip and read the amazing testimonies from individuals who recovered from serious cancers after providing their bodies with the nutrients necessary to rebuild their immune systems so that their body could fight and win their cancer battle naturally.
