Designed By God To Be In Health
Aug 23rd
The physical body we each possess was designed by God (see John 1:3). So if God designed us, He ought to be the one we look to for wisdom in how to maintain our God designed bodies. Right?
Sadly, and to our shame, many acknowledging their physical bodies were designed by God look to the world for wisdom in how to care for them.
Before we go any further, let’s take a few moments to look at a few things the Bible has to say about the physical body we each possess – where this physical body came from, what it is comprised of, and what God designed our body to be nourished with.
God Created The First Human From Rock Dust
And where did that “rock dust come from? “In the beginning GOD CREATED the heaven and the earth.” This entire God created earth is comprised of 100% rock minerals and it is these rock minerals God used as building material to form man.
In Genesis 2:7, these rock minerals are called “the dust of the ground”.
And the Lord God FORMED MAN of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7)
Similar to the way a potter will take a glob of clay (rock minerals) and fashion it into a beautiful work of art, God took the inorganic minerals (called the “dust of the ground” in Genesis 2:7) and fashioned them into the most incredible work of art – the first human physical body (Adam).
Many a mortal potter has taken a lump of clay and fashioned it into a human replica but there was something missing that the potter could not provide – and that missing ingredient is life!
But God, the Creator of the earth, had the power to create life by simply breathing “life” into that lifeless body! Thus “man became a LIVING soul”. That’s where human physical life began!
Where Did God Put Adam After Creating Him?
“And the Lord God planted a garden eastward of Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD GOD to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; . . .” (Genesis 2:8-9)
“And the LORD GOD took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.” (Genesis 2:15)
And What Did God Tell Adam He Should Eat?
“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb [vegetable] bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat [food].” (Genesis 1:29)
Any good concordance will reveal that the word “meat” here in the Kings James Version of the Bible is (in today’s English) an inaccurate translation from the Hebrew. It should be “food”.
So what is God telling Adam he should eat?
He is telling him that his diet should consist exclusively of the fruits and vegetables coming from the plants in the garden.
Where Did Eve Come From?
After God had created Adam, we learn in Genesis 2:18 “And the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him”, and in verses 21-23 we learn how God created Eve from one of Adam’s ribs.
“And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man.” (Genesis 2:21-23)
Where Did You And I Come From?
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply . . .” (Genesis 1:28)
Everyone of us, if we could trace our family tree back far enough, would find that Adam and Eve were the roots of our family tree.
If God had not created and “blessed” Adam and Eve, and told them to “be fruitful and multiply” not a single one of us would be here on earth today.
What Becomes Of Our Body After Death?
God created those first humans to live forever (see Genesis 3:22), but because of Adam and Eve’s sin (see Genesis 3:1-24), God said “thou shalt surely die” (Genesis 3:17)
And what does the Bible say happens to the body when a person dies?
“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread [food], till thou return unto the ground; for out of it was thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” (Genesis 3:19)
For proof of the Bible statement “for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return”, just look at what is left after a body is cremated – only a small pile of rock dust remains. If a body is buried (without the protection of a casket) that body soon decomposes and joins the earth minerals in its surrounding environment.
This is the same decomposing process all animals in the wild experience upon death, as does all plant life.
The scripture “. . . for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return”, is not only true of the human physical body upon death, but also true of all God created forms of life – both animal and plant life.
The Importance Of Minerals
How often do we hear of the need of the body for specific minerals? The body needs calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorous, sodium, iodine, etc. Minerals have three primary functions within the body:
- They provide structure in forming bones and teeth.
- They help maintain normal heart rhythm, muscle function, neural conductivity, and acid-base balance.
- They help regulate cellular metabolism by becoming part of enzymes and hormones that modulate cellular activity.
Where Do These Minerals Come From?
All minerals come from the GROUND and are constantly being recycled through plant and animal life following death and decomposition as they go back into the ground and become a part of the earth!
But God did not design our bodies to receive minerals in powdered rock form as they are found in the ground, because these powdered rock minerals are very difficult to impossible for the body to utilize.
Actually, placing these “dead” rock minerals into the body in excess can be dangerous. So how does God make these rock minerals usable?
Rain falls from the clouds in a distilled form. Distilled water dissolves rock minerals. As this rainwater percolates through these minerals, a number of these earth minerals dissolve into the ground water and are broken down so plants can absorb them.
These rock minerals are also deposited into all ground water sources – well, spring, river, etc as the soils wash into our water sources. You cannot see them, but when you boil water coming from a ground water source you can see a deposit of these minerals lining the pot.
These minerals are taken up by the roots of the plant and are made available in a form that is easy for the body to assimilate as we nourish the body the way God intended. Plant source foods are by far the best source of bio-available minerals for the body.
Many ionic minerals bind to other elements in the water and form some mineral complexes that are more difficult for the body to utilize. Calcium carbonate and magnesium oxide are the two most common and abundant minerals found in ground water. They are basically rock minerals, sparingly soluble in water. The calcium and magnesium are not very usable from these sources due to the tight chemical bond and might cause more harm than good if not eliminated by way of the urine.
Our best source of drinking water is distilled water that has been remineralized with WaterMax™ to produce a slightly alkaline drinking water that does not remove valuable minerals from the body.
The Importance Of The Plant
When God placed Adam and Eve in that Garden and told them in Genesis 1:29 the plants coming from the garden were to be their exclusive source of nourishment, God knew what He was doing.
Did you that all the nutrients the body needs come exclusively from garden plants, including the body’s mineral needs?
All physical life emanates from the sun’s energy being received by the green plant. This process is called photosynthesis:
Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants and certain other organisms transform light into chemical energy. In green plants, light energy is captured by chlorophyll in the chloroplasts of the leaves and used to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds (simple and complex sugars) that are the basis of both plant and animal life.
In Nature All Animals Eat Their Food Raw
In nature, we find that all animals receive this sun energy and all their nutrients either directly from the green plant by eating the green plant or second hand by eating the animal that ate the green plant. But it is important to note that all animals in the wild eat their food raw – never cooked – because the heat in cooking destroys this sun energy.
The gazelle gets its nutrients directly from the plant by eating the plant, while the lion that eats the gazelle gets it nutrients by consuming the flesh of the gazelle after the nutrients have become a part of the gazelle’s body. It is important to note that all carnivorous animals in the wild consume the raw flesh of a plant eating animals.
In the Dr. Pottenger’s research experiment using 900 cats, Dr. Pottenger learned that when cats were fed raw meat over a nine-year experiment, the cats thrived, were able to consistently reproduce, and their offspring did not get sick.
But Dr. Pottenger learned that by feeding another group of cats the identical meat, only in cooked form, the animals in three generations could no longer reproduce. He also learned that the longer these cats ate the meat in cooked form, the sooner sickness occurred in their offspring.
God did not design the human digestive tract to properly process the nutrients found in animal flesh foods in raw or cooked form. Rather, God designed the human body to receive its nutrients exclusively from plant foods in their raw, living form.
When man obtains these plant nutrients through the flesh of a dead animal, especially when that animal flesh has been cooked, serious potential problems result. In fact, almost every physical problem man experiences today is caused by the consuming of animal flesh – including but not limited to heart attacks, strokes, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, arthritis, acid stomach, heart burn, and the list goes on and on.
Sickness Abounds Today
From the time God gave Adam that 100% raw, plant-based diet in Genesis 1:29 until 1,700 years later when flood waters destroyed all plant life there is not a single recorded instance of sickness. At that time, man lived to an average age of 912.
However, after the flood waters had destroyed all plant foods (see Genesis 7:19 & 24), God allowed mankind to consume the flesh of the clean animals which were on the ark in Genesis 9:3 (I believe for survival purposes because all plant foods had been destroyed by the flood). We also learn that man began to cook his food about this same time.
What was the result? Sickness entered the human race. And as man has continued to wander further and further from consuming the foods God told him he should consume in Genesis 1:29, sickness has continued to increase until today sickness is being experienced at younger and younger ages.
After accidents, cancer is the number one cause of death among our children while diabetes abounds. Not to mention our senior citizens with all their physical problems.
This sickness and deterioration continues despite an ever increasing use of high cost modern medicine. In fact, the cost of health care in America is steadily increasing while the health of the American people steadily declines.
If the American people do not soon return to the plant based foods God designed our physical bodies to be nourished with, health care costs will bankrupt our nation.
Friends, National Health Care will never bring health to the American people. Only a return to a plant-based diet can do that.
Fortunately, there are a growing number of people today who have learned how to eliminate sickness and live in health. These are the people who have learned that their bodies were “Designed by God to “be in health” and have obtained that health by returning to consuming their food in the form God told Adam it should be consumed in Genesis 1:29. (The Hallelujah Diet is patterned after God’s Genesis 1:29 diet.)
These people become a living, breathing testimony and an inspiration to others. Following this diet and lifestyle change, sicknesses of all kinds are simply disappearing, weight is normalizing, eyesight is improving, and energy is increasing, as their bodies become fit for the Master’s use.
Thirty-five years ago I made this diet and lifestyle change and in less than a year saw my cancer simply disappear and my health restored. Rhonda in less than a year of making the diet and lifestyle change saw her debilitating arthritis disappear while losing 85 pounds.
Millions of others have made this diet and lifestyle change, while tens of thousands have written to tell me that after they made the diet and lifestyle change they recovered from over 170 different physical problems, including terminal, metastasized, stage-4 cancers.

“Where Is God In Time of Sickness” Draws Big Response
Jul 25th
In last week’s Health Tip I concluded a two-part article titled “Where is God in Time of Sickness.” It was an article inspired by the large number of people who in a recent poll on my website voted “Prayer” as offering the “best hope in dealing with cancer.”
Last week’s article drew a big response from subscribers and below I share a few of those responses:
Great article!
Richard and Janet C.
Thank you Rev. Malkmus for that great article in Health Tip #714, titled ‘Where is God in Time of Sickness’. I think this may be the best Health Tip you have ever written!
What you shared has been exactly our thoughts as well for a long time, but it is so hard to get people in the church to see the truth of what you wrote. Thanks for spelling out the truthful answer with such clarity.
Shawn T.
Rev. Malkmus that article you wrote regarding ‘Where is God in Time of Sickness’ needs to be put into print form and made available to the folks praying for the sick to be healed in every church, not only in America, but in the whole world.
In that article you revealed the answer to the question so many have asked after watching a loved one die following much agonizing prayer for God to heal that individual. Your answer was so ‘right on’!
Henry M.
Thank you for this perfectly explained logical response to such a frequently asked question.
This article frames my mind in a way that I now better understand how to think when God fails to answer prayers for a sick loved ones recovery. It should also be a big help in motivating people to change their diet and lifestyle.
Tanner
That was a great article Dr. Malkmus. My husband has for years been trying to get me to stop relying on doctors and prayer for my healing, but I wouldn’t listen. I finally adopted the Hallelujah Acres Diet after both the doctors and prayer had failed to restore my health. Finally after overcoming my stubbornness to do what my husband had wanted me to do – change my diet and lifestyle – I got well!
Sadly, too many people are still relying on doctors and God to restore their health when all they need to do is change what they eat in order to get well. Too bad it took me so long to learn this truth.
Adriana
George, what you have said regarding God’s Natural Laws for healing the body makes sense. A car designed to run on gasoline will be ruined when wrong fuel is placed into its fuel tank. The same applies to the human body. God made the human body to run only on Genesis 1:29 plant foods. If we place something else into our human fuel tanks, over time, it will destroy the human body.
Angelita
Dr. Malkmus, I am so very sorry about the passing of your grandson who refused to do The Hallelujah Diet after being diagnosed with cancer. That has got to be so very painful. My thoughts and prayers are with you both and the rest of your family.
Thank you so very much for all that you do to help others improve their health. It is sad that often others, sometimes even those in your own family, will not listen and have to pay the price for not listening with their own life.
Meta P.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Several people expressed interest that Hallelujah Acres provide in print form this article titled “Where is God in Time of Sickness.” Is this something you would like to see happen and if we did print it, would you be willing to make them available to the people in your church? You can respond with your answers to these questions here.
Why Doesn’t God Take Away My Addictions When I Pray?
Aug 3rd
For a number of issues of this Health Tip, we have been dealing with the subject of addictions. We have named a number of addictive substances that man indulges in and learned that there are many who desire to be freed of these addictions.
In an effort to help people free themselves of addictions, I began last week in Health Tip #662, a three part series to help folks better understand why they were addicted and give some tips on how to overcome these addictions:
- Why do Christians struggle with addictions?
- Why is God not answering prayers regarding addictions?
- How can victory over addictions be achieved?
PART 2: WHY IS GOD NOT ANSWERING PRAYERS REGARDING ADDICTIONS?
Let’s begin by sharing a few letters received from folks experiencing and seeking help from God in breaking their addictions.
“I just read the testimony of the man who was still smoking and drinking beer even though he is a Christian and has been reading your Health Tips for some time. I am not smoking and drinking, but I am eating sweets and fats like I have no sense of what it is doing to my body. If I eat these things, I know in the morning I will be stiff and my face will look puffy and I will be crabby and everything will get on my nerves.
“I was on The Hallelujah Diet for several weeks, and my skin looked so vibrant, my body didn’t ache in the morning, and I didn’t have headaches, and things did not get on my nerves.
“So what happened? I don’t understand why I lost my focus. I start off every morning praying and thinking I’m going to get back on track but before I know it, I have eaten what I shouldn’t have. It becomes a vicious cycle between the eating and the moods and the feelings of failure.
“I know the benefits and I like how I look and feel when I eat according to God’s plan. So what is my hang-up?”
“I read your article on addictions with great interest. I have a strong addiction to sweets and over 400 pounds in weight speaks to how indulgent I am… I can’t seem to break my habits and cravings… Please pray for me!”
The above letters are just a small sampling of the types of letters I receive from Christians who desire victory over their addictions. Many of them have been praying for victory over their addictions for a very long time, only without experiencing the victory they say they so desire.
So where is God in times like this?
“THE LORD HELPS THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES”
My dad spoke those words to me time and time again as I was growing up. I understand better now what he was saying than I did then. Quite obviously he wanted me to realize that what I was asking God to do for me was something I could usually do for myself. If God or someone else did it for me, I would never learn to take control of my own situations, actions, or needs, but rather learn to be dependent on others.
Dad made me apply those words as I was growing up. For instance I never once received an allowance. Instead I had to earn money to pay for the things I wanted, even haircuts, beginning at about age ten.
At that age I started washing neighbor’s floors for 25 cents a floor. From ages twelve to sixteen I delivered newspapers 6 days a week for $4.50 a week. From ages sixteen to eighteen I worked behind a soda counter and delivered prescriptions by bicycle after school and on Saturdays for $16.00 per week.
I was in the U.S. Navy from ages nineteen to twenty-one earning $99.00 per month. By age 21 I had saved enough money to buy my first car, a 1955 Plymouth Belvedere, salmon and white hardtop, without any help from dad or the bank.
Throughout my life, and until this present day, I have never asked anyone or expected anyone to provide my wants or needs no matter how dire my situation.
Sadly, we live in a society today that expects others to take care of us. We look to others to pay our obligation if we fall behind in the car or house payment. We want someone else to pay for food or education. We need a hand-out to pay health care expenses when we get sick, or pay unemployment when we are out of work, or social security when we don’t prepare for retirement… and the list goes on.
This has led us as a nation to Socialism, my friends. Our government promises to provide for the needs of the people from the cradle to the grave, and all this without effort or responsibility on the part of the people who receive the hand-outs.
Because of these government handouts, an ever increasing number of people who do not want to be responsible for their own decisions and actions have become dependent. These people are increasing in numbers and slowly becoming the majority in our country, as they vote to elect the politicians who promise to give them the most stuff.
America was not built by this kind of people. Our nation was built by people who were fiercely independent. They asked only to be left alone as they hacked out a home site in the wilderness. They established a government that promised to protect them so that they could pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, while becoming one nation under God.
I realize the phrase “the Lord helps those who help themselves” is not found in the Bible, but I do believe these words have great bearing in the understanding of the subject before us. Why doesn’t God take away my addictions when I pray?
1. When God created this universe, He established certain natural laws to govern what He created. For instance, there is a natural law called gravity. This tells us that if we get too close to the edge of a high place, we will suffer the consequences of that violation. This law applies Christian or non-Christian alike regardless of whether we are aware of that natural law or how much we may pray and ask God to keep us from experiencing the consequences of that violation. Agreed?
2. When God created the physical body we each possess, I believe He also established a natural law that governs what these physical bodies were to be nourished with. That natural law is found in Genesis 1:29, where God told us in no uncertain words what we were to nourish our physical bodies with. Agreed?
Ahhh, do I detect some hesitation in your agreeing with that statement?
3. Did not God tell us that there would be consequences for our actions in Galatians 6:7? Agreed? Surely this verse makes it abundantly clear.
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
In our churches, what is the number one prayer request? Is it not requests for healing of physical problems? I believe most will agree that prayers for physical healing comprise almost 90% of all the prayer requests in our churches. Is it God’s fault we are sick or could it be that Galatians 6:7 comes into play here?
4. Does God always answer these prayers for physical healing? Obviously the answer is no. We pray for many of these same people week after week often seeing them becoming sicker and sicker, and even dying, in spite of all the prayers being offered and all that the doctors can do. Where is God in times like this?
Could my dad’s words, “the Lord helps those who help themselves,” have a bearing here? After reading tens-of-thousands of testimonies coming from those who took control of their own health by adopting The Hallelujah Diet and Lifestyle, I believe the answer is a resounding yes!
Through the years, tens of thousands have written to tell me that when they stopped looking to God or to their doctor to heal them, but rather took control of their own health and started eating exclusively the Garden foods God told mankind he should eat for the nourishment of his body and started exercising, the body literally healed itself.
You see, God has given each of us a beautiful physical body, and Scripture tells us that it literally is His temple.
“What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
I Corinthians 6:8-9
What does the Bible tell us the consequences of not taking proper care of our physical body is?
“If any man [or woman] defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”
I Corinthians 3:17
SO WHERE IS GOD WHEN WE PRAY FOR HELP IN OVERCOMING ADDICTIONS?
God can and on occasion does answer prayers for healing. God can do anything!
But it appears God is increasingly leading His people to do what they can do for themselves. He provides the body with the Genesis 1:29 nutrients it needs so it can do what God designed it to do, which is heal itself.
Do not the Scriptures say: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me?” (Philippians 4:13)
Most Christians want to only look at God’s part here, and not their part, “I can do…”
Could it be that God wants us to participate in the healing of our own physical problems and the overcoming of our own addictions, which we ourselves have created?
I find way too many Christians are not only lazy, but also very, very undisciplined and thus dependent! They do not want to participate in their healing when they are sick. They do not want to become proactive by participating in the overcoming of their addictions. Rather, they want to let someone else do for them what they can, but are unwilling to do for themselves.
They pray, “Dear God, please remove this sickness” or “Dear God, please remove this addiction from me – Amen.” Some even demand that God do this for them.
I wish everyone could go through military training after they complete high school.
Why would I say that? Because most people have never learned self-discipline!
For instance, in the military, if you do not instantly obey a command, you may stand at attention for an hour on a hot tarmac. You may have to do 100 push-ups.
It usually doesn’t take a person very long in the military before they learn that they will reap what they have sown if they do not respond immediately to a command with “YES SIR!”
You say what good could possibly come from what some would consider this cruel and inhuman treatment? Friend, it teaches self-discipline. As we learn self-discipline, we also learn how to take control of our actions and situations. We do not give up, or allow ourselves to become defeated or look to someone else when difficulties arise.
I personally feel that it was because of the self-discipline I learned going through Navy boot camp and serving during the Korean War that when faced with cancer in 1976, I was able to change my diet overnight from the addictive Standard American Diet to God’s Genesis 1:29 diet and start drinking lots of vegetable juices.
Making this diet change was not hard for me. Nor have I found it difficult to remain on this diet these past almost 35 years. Why have I not found it difficult? I thank God for my military training. It taught me self-discipline, and that played a big role in my recovery from cancer.
Making a diet change isn’t necessarily easy but “I can do…” And so can you!
During World War II our military boys sang, “Praise the Lord, and pass the ammunition.” What were they saying? They were saying that they were looking to God for help, but they were going to do all they could do to achieve victory. And they did achieve victory!
Today, if we want to have victory over our physical problems and/or our addictions, we need to pray. But then we need to get up off our knees and start doing our part.
So what should we do when we get sick? Run to a doctor and ask the doctor for a pill that will hopefully make us feel better? Should we run to God and ask Him to take away our physical problem and make us all better?
Or rather, should we run to the bathroom, look ourselves square in the mirror and ask, “What did I do to create this physical problem?” Then do what is necessary to help our body do what God designed it to do. Give it the nutrients it needs so that it can heal itself.
And what should we do when we are dealing with an addiction? Should we run to God and ask Him to take away that addiction and take no personal responsibility? No. We should take control of the addiction by denying our body that addictive substance (and yes, that does take some self-discipline). Ask the Lord to help us have the strength necessary to do what we need to do for ourselves – BREAK THAT ADDICTION.
You can do it friend if you want to bad enough! Remember: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Why Do We Humans Get Sick While Animals in the Wild Don’t
Apr 6th
If we will take just a few moments to consider the animals in the wild I believe we can learn something from them. Animals in the wild carry no Health Insurance, nor do they have made available to them Medicare, Medicaid, Hospitals, doctors, drugs, radiation, or surgeries.
Nor do they have university trained nutritionists to tell them what they should or should not eat, or how many grams of this or calories of that they should consume to be properly nourished, and yet animals in the wild rarely ever get sick!
So just what is it that allows animals in the wild, without any help from experts in the medical community or dieticians to experience excellent health, while man with all these so-called helps, becomes sicker and sicker as the cost of this so-called health care continues to climb?
Here is the answer: Animals in the wild follow the instincts God placed within them when He created them. An animal in the wild knows by the instinct programmed into them by God, where to go to obtain the nutrients necessary to sustain life immediately upon birth. Do they not instinctively seek out mother’s milk supply without any help from man?
And after these wild animals are weaned, do they not know instinctively and by mother’s example, and without mans help, what to eat in order to sustain life? We call them dumb animals, but they are far wiser than we humans when it comes to how to nourish and maintain their God created physical bodies.
WHY DO AUTOMOBILES PING AND KNOCK?
Most people who drive an automobile know that the engine of the vehicle they are driving was designed by its designer to run on a certain grade or octane of gasoline. If a person is not aware of this requirement and in ignorance places within the gas tank of that vehicle a low octane fuel or contaminated fuel, what will be the result? Will that low octane or contaminated fuel not cause pinging and knocking to occur within the engine?
Now if when that pinging and knocking occurs, they take the vehicle to a mechanic to fix and he is unaware that they have put a low octane or contaminated fuel in the gas tank, the mechanic might do all kinds of things in an effort to fix the problem, possibly making the problem even worse, while charging money for his unsuccessful efforts.
But the mechanic will be unable to fix the problem as long as he is unaware that the problem was caused by the owner placing wrong fuel into the gas tank. Doesn’t that sound a lot like what the bible says about how doctors have unsuccessfully been trying to fix the physical problems of mankind for over 2,000 years.
“And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood for twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse.” (Mark 5:25-26)
If we humans are going to experience the health we so desire, and the health animals in the wild enjoy, we must be mindful of the warning God gives us in Galatians 6:7, and let’s apply this teaching to what we take into our body and expose our body to: “And be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
SO WHY DO WE HUMANS GET SICK?
I’m going to drop a bombshell here: Almost every physical and even psychological problem we humans experience during our entire lifetime (other than accidents of course) is caused by the placing of wrong fuel (food or drink) into our body, and the physical and emotional problems we experience are almost always merely the body reacting to that wrong fuel.
If this be so, and it is an accurate statement, what can the doctor do to help us? If the problems we are experiencing are caused by wrong or bad fuel, can those pinging and knockings (physical problems) be corrected by placing more contaminants into the body in the form of drugs (poisons)? Or rather will not these additional contaminants produce more pinging and knocking (additional problems)?
And if the problem is caused by bad fuel, will radiating (burning) the offending part restore health? Or will removing the part surgically restore health? Do you believe the mechanic working on your car can, by removing the spark plugs or other parts, create a condition that will allow the car to run better, when the problem is bad fuel?
I CHANGED FUEL 34 YEARS AGO AND RECOVERED FROM CANCER
In 1976, after I was told I had colon cancer, I went looking for a way of dealing with that cancer without the use of toxic chemotherapy, burning radiation, or mutilating surgery, because of the devastating results my own mother had experienced going the medical route before me when dealing with her colon cancer.
The reason I went looking for an alternative was that after mother was diagnosed with colon cancer, she very willing accepted the standard medical treatments for cancer of chemotherapy, cobalt (radiation) and surgery, and at the time of her death I was convinced that all these treatments, rather than helping her get better, actually had make her worse and that it was these medical treatments that had become the very cause of her death.
Not wanting to go the way mother had gone with her colon cancer, in desperation I turned to an Evangelist friend in Texas by the name of Lester Roloff for help. At the time, brother Roloff was trying to get preachers and fellow Christians to change what they ate, but his efforts were met with not only rejection, but often ridicule and criticism.
However, my reaction to what Brother Roloff was saying was not one of rejection, ridicule or criticism, but rather “Brother Roloff I need your help” and his advice to me was, if I wanted to get well, I needed to stop placing into my body those things that had created my cancer – in other words he encouraged me to change the fuel.
His advice was that I eliminate anything of animal origin (both flesh and dairy), along with all refined sugar, refined flour and caffeine, the very substances I had been consuming on almost a daily basis for the previous 42 years. These were the things brother Roloff said had caused my cancer.
And in their place, Brother Roloff encouraged me to adopt the Genesis 1:29 diet, the very diet God had given Adam immediately after He had created him. The diet he encouraged me to consume was a diet consisting of 100% raw plant sourced garden foods and to drink a lot of freshly extracted raw vegetable juices.
It was in January 1976 I took Brother Roloff’s advice, made the diet change overnight, and almost immediately started to get well. The rectal bleeding soon stopped and the baseball tumor under my left rib cage began to shrink.
Within less than one year, without any chemotherapy, radiation or surgery, or any other doctoring, my tumor had simply disappeared and I was totally well. But not only did my cancer disappear that first year, but so did every other physical problems I was experiencing prior to making a change in the fuel (food and drink) I was placing in my body.
I WRITE A BOOK REGARDING BAD FUEL CAUSING PHYSICAL PROBLEMS
When I wrote my first book “Why Christians Get Sick” way back in 1988, I listed certain food and drink items Christians were placing into their body that were the primary cause of almost every physical problem, other than accidents, Christians were experiencing.
As the content of that book began to be realized I began to receive not only rejection, but also ridicule and criticism from fellow preachers and Christians just as Brother Roloff had received criticism before me when he tried to get Christians to change what they ate. The criticism was especially intense when I encouraged the elimination of animal flesh, dairy, and cheese. Hadn’t God told us we could eat animal flesh in Genesis 9:3 my critics railed?
Since that initial rejection of my book by the preachers and the Christian community in general, over a million copies of “Why Christians Get Sick” have been printed, while thousands have purchased additional copies to give to friends and loved ones who they wanted to see improve their health. Why would people send friends and loved ones copies of this book?
Because those who applied the teachings of the book almost always got well from whatever their physical or psychological problems were and they wanted their loved ones and friends to experience improved health also.
Here is a letter I received just this past week from Briana B., who lives in Bethel Springs, Tennessee: “Thanks you so much for spreading the good news of living God’s Way! I have just finished reading “Why Christians Get Sick” and really enjoyed it. I’ve been on the Hallelujah Lifestyle for just 3 days now and already feel great. Thanks so much for all you do to spread the good news and enlighten people.”

A MINISTRY IS BIRTHED
On February 12, 1992 when Rhonda and I, following the Lord’s leading, began a new Christian ministry we named Hallelujah Acres, in an 11-foot wide, 16-seat Vegan Restaurant and Health Food store on Main Street in Rogersville, Tennessee (population 5,000), few people entered our store or showed any interest in eating foods they were not familiar with eating.
That is until I began proclaiming a message titled “How to Eliminate Sickness” in that store on Saturday mornings. Gradually a few people started to attend, listen to what I was saying, apply the truths they were hearing, and started seeing amazing improvements in both their physical and mental well-being.
In that “How to Eliminate Sickness” seminar I would share with the people that if they wanted to get well from their physical and emotional problems, they would have to change the fuel. I shared with them what foods they were placing into their body that were causing their physical problems and what foods they needed to start consuming if they wanted to get well.
As people started to make these diet (fuel) changes, the testimonies started to roll in: cancers disappearing; diabetes gone, high blood pressure and cholesterol readings normalizing, headaches gone, arthritic pain going away, eyesight improving, and the testimonies have continued rolling in, in ever increasing numbers to this very day.
Through the years tens-of-thousands have written to share with me that after they changed the fuel, that is after making the diet and lifestyle change I have been sharing, they have recovered from over 170 different physical and emotional problems, and they just don’t get sick anymore.
One gentleman, after just six months of making the diet (fuel) change reported a 60-pound weight loss and the disappearance of 28 different physical problems. Another told of a 206 pound weight loss in just 10-months of making the fuel change. A Nascar Driver reported recovering from stage-4 metastasized cancer and is still free of cancer over 10 years later after changing the fuel (foods he was consuming).
You can read over 1,000 of these testimonies, in numerous categories, at www.hacres.com.
I am out of space for this Health Tip. Next week, the good Lord willing, we will begin taking a look at the various fuels and other things we are placing on or into our bodies and see if we can determine what part we have been playing in the creation of the physical and psychological problems we have been experiencing. This information will not only be interesting but enlightening and challenging as well.
